Wednesday TeaDay 3/2/11 TeaPlan, yes or no?
Greetings again TeaFriends and welcome to today's TeaDay. We hope you will drop in to TeaDay and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed the odds that you will drink a new tea this month. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Do you generally plan out your TeaDays TEAs? Or to you choose what to brew based on what suits your fancy at the time? Please share!
We are looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with ... everyone. Bottoms up.

I mostly drink what I fancy at the moment, but sometimes I want to finish a tea that has been open for too long, or that has just a little bit left, and add that to my teaday too.

As I like to experiment a lot, for example to try out different parameters or a new tea/teapot combination, I tend to plan. One session gives me the idea for the next one.
But of course sometime, I just drink to have a good time, while enjoying a book or so. In this case, I like to surprise myself.

I basically never plan what I'm going to have on a particular tea day. The only exception would be when I am having guests, then I plan.
Today's tea has been 1992 Xiaguan Tuo, 90's Liubao, Xishan Green Tea, Lishan Gaoshan Wulong, Yixing Hongcha, and 90's Shuixian. So far.

I choose in the moment, and generally never plan ahead. But I tend to drink the same tea all day.
Chose some White Peony today.

I partially plan, a few days at a time, say a few comparisons of the same cultivar from different sources or ages, or the same tea from a variety of brewing vessels - - -
- - - but when that plan completes, or tires, or fails
I choose at random until the next plan suggests itself
but even when a plan is going well old favourites often tap me on the shoulder and jump into the middle of a now failing plan!

So far still sticking to yesterday's plan
Cheap DanCong in a variety of Brewing vessels.
Today in my Ba Xian Gaiwan from China Cha Dao

Seems very similar result to the Gisui Tokoname yesterday.

It certainly looks like you have a thing for the Eight Immortals. Very cool! I like them as well and collect them. Who is your favorite?

Unless I receive or purchase a new tea that I'm dying to try, I usually pick based on my taste at the time. You never know what you might be in the mood for.
Cheers!

When I have new teas to try, I try to plan for a new one every day or every other day. When I don't have anything new, I go by whatever I'm in the mood for.
Today I've had a couple infusions of darjeeling in the afternoon, and a peppermint teabag at work. I'm going to break out the wuyi ensemble with dinner.

I wing it.
Today I started off with a loose leaf Pu-Erh. At the moment my mug contains some Assam Melody.

I hardly ever plan; I usually choose at the moment.
No tea yet; but not long now.

I usually plan each day while working what tea I will have that evening. But for the most part it is rather spontaneous as my mood will often change when I am at the tea table figuring things out.

Probably Zhongli Quan (Chung-li Ch’üan)
I have yet to find any English translations of their exploits.
