Lovely photos so far! I'll add to the mix.

Image
60ml gaiwan from The Tea Gallery, of course.

Image
150ml Pin Zini & Michael Coffee cup. I use this set for Hongcha.

Image
4 oz. Gyokko Kyusu & 4 oz. cup that I use all the time.

Image
My only hagi!

Image
80ml Hongni for aged Sheng.

Currently brewing some Rou Gui in my small gaiwan.

Difficult to pick only six favorite pieces of teaware.

Here are a kyoyaki chawan, a natsume, a houhin set, five yunomi (more precisely kumidashi chawan), a kyuusu and a chaire.

I think in my house there's a total of 4 teawares, only 2 of which I'm fond of my oolong teapot and a chawan I've yet to put to work.

I have six pieces of teaware-- but only six pieces of teaware. I have one Japanese-style teacup; an English teacup with strawberries on it; a mug with strawberries on it; two mugs with apples on it; and a tiny cup with sunflowers on it. My favorite is the Japanese-style one.

Chrysanthemum pu-erh this afternoon; currently drinking mugicha.

Loving this thread! Such nice collections! I can say I have a few favorites. No pics since I'm on the road without them :\

They include a light-turquoise chawan, a gray-ish kyusu, and an english style teacup (it's tiny and I found it quite randomly).

Fukamushi sencha and lots of cheap lipton :(

Beautiful faves Brandon, Karmaplace, Tortoise, Adam, Nick, Olivier, and Ent! Hope I got everyone! Really enjoyed seeing your faves!

I have had a hard time answering this topic, maybe other have as well. Perhaps an extra day will help, so this TeaDay is extended to Saturday as well!

Regardless, a great TeaDay beginning with a blend of dribs and drabs sencha with the Mrs. Next up, Organic Sencha from Rishi, the last sencha in the house!!!

I saw all these beautiful pieces and decided to show my own favorite 6 pieces, but gave up. There's just no way to pick just 6. Too many favorites and old friends. Wonderful pieces everyone!

Is that hagi a Kashun, or am I mistaken? It looks fairly large, what's the volume?

I love that Seong-il pot! I really hope I can make it out to Boseong sometime to meet him and see more of his work (or at least find him at the fairs). :)

Chip, I was wondering at your lack of answer in this one. :D A question I was meaning to ask you anyway might serve: What are your favorite brewing vessels for fukamushi sencha, and why?

I oversteeped my first infusion of my Sae Midori this morning. *Grumble* Oh well, still pulled a lot of yummy liquid out of it anyway.

Good lord, there are some glorious wares here. NickE, I see you have one of my hagi's siblings.

+1!

Wow, it has been toooo long since I have posted here. Major problems with the computer at work, and I live with a 'computer control freak!'

I am anxious to see what Chip decides to share as his "FAB 5 or 6 "

My TeaDay started with sharing a Rishi organic sencha with Chip and a few of our feline friends at our kitchen teatable. Looking forward to getting home and hopefully sharing matcha in one of our corylum chawans.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend complete with lots of TEA!

Good Eye at correctly identifying both pieces. The Hagi yunomi is Kashun and while not a huge yunomi certainly large enough. I would say if you want to go by the game of 70% full it holds roughly 8-9 oz (probably a little over 12 to the brim). I think most of his other Yunomi's are smaller.

Six pics, 7 teaware favorites. This is hard, because I now have about a dozen pieces of teaware that I really, really like, most of which are well used. The others were eliminated on the basis of not being used often enough, for reasons of size, ease of use, or otherwise.

Started the teaDay with the 'granite' yunomi and my tokoname kyusu, my usual morning sencha setup, with Honyama Zairai sencha from Norbu
Image
I will soon be having a few more steeps of Lao Ban Zhang loose mao cha in my "In Praise of Shadows" cup
Image
And then I'll go in to work (grumble), to finish some paperwork for the week, and will drink from my 'seafoam' yunomi
Image
but if I were going into the satellite office, I'd be drinking from the 'snowdrifts' cup
Image
and then returning home I might pick one of the matching pair of sparkling black Greenwood studio cups
Image
or, if I wanted to enjoy the color of a delicate tea, I might use a 'tempest' hagi
