Neither. I sometimes line them up by size, but it really just depends upon which order I've used them, and therefore washed them, in last.

Rose congou all this afternoon, currently sipping on some pau d'arco.

TD continued with Matcha Kaoru organic from O-Cha in a Cory Lum chawan ... finishing the TD with 3 day sheng, still very good!

Mine is a little random at the moment, but things are mostly organized by function. There is a spot for most frequently used pots. After that, there is some separation by size -- my pots are mainly kept in small curio cabinets, so there is some sorting by which will fit in which cabinets. After that, there is sorting by function; pots for Japanese greens with steel mesh filters, pots for Japanese greens with ceramic filters, Chinese pots, glazed porcelain pots.

At the moment the storage locations are scattered throughout my apartment, since I haven't rearranged the furniture since I developed my tea obsession. I'm moving soon, and things will be more sorted in my new location. Currently, everywhere you look in my apartment, there are books and teaware.
