Happy Birthday, Shangguan.

I'm on this shu again from teamasters. A 90's tuo, I guess. By far the best of only 3 examples I've tried of shu puerh.

Wines and beers mostly. Good Red wines, Ports, belgium ales, Hefe's for a refreshing beer

...ditto!

I do enjoy an occasional wine, but prefer Vodka or Sake late in the evening after work.

However, my beverage of choice is TEA! Had a nice morning sencha with the Mr., along with Shincha, the cat and Pyrit too!

Speaking of Shincha, can hardly wait for the new harvest! 8)

Happy birthday, IPT!

I bought some Jeju orchid flavored green today and tried it out. It smells incredible, and has a really smooth floral taste. I think my only issue with it may be how expensive it is (about $14 for 30g), though I've gotten several infusions out of it.

When I left my cup to brew another infusion, I returned to find this:

There was no tea in the cup, so I suppose it was just a nice-smelling chin rest for her.

Great TD as usual. Began with YM Diamond from Umami-Chaya followed by an opening of Kame Gyokuro from the O-C with the Mrs. It has been too long sans good gyokuro.

Might use some wine in cooking tonight.

Thank you Brandon, Karmaplace, and Geek for coloring this TD!

Geek, refresh my memory please, who make the cup? Thanks.

Finished the TD with a special TGY from IPT.

Really??? The one that is pan-fired rather than steamed? What is your general impression of it? Does it have any surprising qualities?

Details please!
I've just opened my second pack, and I'm drinking some just now. I'm still a little confused. It's very nice and does provide something of a middle ground between Chinese and Japanese greens but is a little tough to pin down. It has umami, it has floral. Brewed lightly it is a little more similar to Chinese greens, maybe bi luo chun, but pushed even a little it becomes very obviously Japanese.

The bag I've just opened is a little more twiggy than the last batch but the difference is only noticeable visually. In short I find it an excellent and easy to enjoy green tea but also weird enough to keep it interesting.

Thanks Proinsias. It sounds like it is worth tasting, and its price is reasonable. I will have to pick some up when the new harvest arrives.

Bei Dou No 1 this morning. Kiwami will be up next.
