One of our tc'ers suggest a power rinse. That's to say, a high pour with a lot of force to knock loose all the powdery offal. The technique works very well. I rinsed it twice and the tea became quite elegant.

Never would have tried that without Teachat.

Never would have had the Tea, either.

Cheers, teapeeps!
That is actually very interesting! Who'd a thunk it?!?  :!:

I started drinking tea seriously about three years ago and my searches for info kept bringing me here, so I joined. This is nice community of folks (plus the occasional angry beaver) with loads of accumulated tea wisdom and with news about teas that are hot right now; almost all of the greatest teas I have tried have been recommended by TCers.

I just received my first 2011 shincha, ``88 nights'' from Kaburagien. They ship this in a can with a pop-top! I also received a small can of temomicha from Gifu Shirakawa. I'll be out of town all of next week so I won't open this shincha until Friday, 5/27.

Finished a bag of Mr Xu's Rou Gui this morning. This is my favorite of the few RGs that have tried, lean rich and firm with a slightly creamy quality.

Here to learn and share about tea--referred by a tea vendor as I mentioned discussing tea in some other online forums. Came, checked it out, and enjoy the tea banter as well as new knowledge, learning, and sometimes being able to be a resource for someone else.

Today, a slightly off-kilter but mostly quiet day, only drank some cold-brewed sencha (looks like that may be a good use of some inexpensive sencha I bought as a lark from my chinatown tea shop), and now enjoying several infusions of Yin Zhen silver needle from Jing Tea Shop. It's an excellent silver needle and though the package seemed intimidatingly large when I got it, of course silver needle is so light and loosely packed that I am going through it at a quick pace.

Thanks for coloring our TD Adam!

Saturday was a great TD. Began with Kurogi from Umami-Chaya with the Mrs. Next up, Uji Organic Matcha from O-Cha. And finished with the lovely Organic 7132 also from the O-C.

Happy Birthday Adam!

I am slacking off this weekend. This TeaDay continues into Sunday.

Please continue to discuss the topic, share what is in your cup, and share whatever is on your mind ... after all, this is our TeaRoom.

Anybody drinking TeaToday?

Began this Sunday TeaDay pondering whether to get some 2010 sencha out of the TeaFridge or drain only the open sencha and wait for shincha. It is quite a conundrum. What to do, what to do? :?

For now, this moment anyway, just drinking what is open.

Began the TD with a tea that has been a pleasant surprise, Kurogi Yame Sencha from Umami-Chaya with the Mrs. It is sold out. Lots of flavor yet not bitter. It reminds me of YM a bit, but it is different.

Little time for TC recently.

In the beginning I've been searching for information and help about tea. Lurked here for about a month and then decided it was time to say "hello" :)
TC is really something special. A great community with a lot of helpful and friendly teadrinkers. Found some real good teafriends here.

The wonderful 2006 Yiwu Mountain gave me a great teaday today. Thanks to Tim for this nice sample. I enjoyed every sip.

+1!

Had the rest of my yame gyokuro 2010 today, so now I can concentrate completely on shincha.

Drinking some tea here in LA....started with some Den's Shin-ryoku sencha, and now, after much struggle with self control (new teas! untasted teas! vs. need to finish this fantastic Ali Shan off before it loses its edge....), some Tsou ma fei Alishan spring 2010 oolong. That will start the afternoon off nicely.

Later, sure to be something new, just not sure which.

When I first decided to "get into" tea, I was looking for good online resources, and TeaChat hit the top of the list. I've learned a lot here over the years from the many members. Over the years, it's become like a second home on the internet. :D

So cheers to everybody for making this place a great place to visit and enjoy a cup of tea and great conversation!

I joined this place for pretty much all of the above except for trolling or anything like that.
you are all great folks.
I teach and learn. Mostly learn and lurk though.
Good stuff all around.

I like to learn more about things I'm interested in and talk to others about said interests. When it comes to tea, TeaChat does just that and sometimes more(re: OTTIs/SOs, swaps, and whatnot).

Been having a rather senchaful day in playing with my new mini kyusu from Den's. Since getting home I've had some Maruyama from Maiko, Maromi from Den's, and am currently finishing off some Miyabi from O-Cha with Maiko's Kinari planned for next. :D

To learn everything I can in the shortest period of time, as with all my nerdy hobbies  . This one is going to be, and has been to some extent, a lifelong path for me.

Mo' Maojian green earlier today.

Tomorrow's going to be a good one: 2000 shu upon awakening for my hangover, then starting on the rest of my premier DHP and finishing up the iced green I made a couple of days ago.
