Finally caved to everyone here's praise and got some shincha YM. Just finished up my first session with it and only regret not trying it sooner.

This is why I rarely ever allow my cat to be around any teaware, even though she's been pretty good and hasn't broken anything(teaware or otherwise) in a few years now. Well, unless you count knocking things off the counter or tabletops so that the puppy can chew it up.
Well, better late than never on the YM! Imagine how many billions of people who will never try such an amazing tea!!!???!!!

Great TD continued with Yama no Ocha organic from Umami-Chaya.

Guess what, yesterday's TeaDay continues into Friday.

Please be sure to stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Also continue to discuss yesterday's topic!

And well, discuss whatever since this is our TeaRoom!

Bonus topic ... what about teas and Thursday's topic. From how many countries have you tried teas? Countries of origin ...

OK, have a great TeaDay!

I've tried teas from China, Japan, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

This morning I'm drinking Pre-quingming Weng Jia Shan Shi Feng Long Jing from a Gingko-blog-sale-sample, and Sencha the Ultimate from Zencha.

It appears that I will very soon be drinking tea from Czech-made teawares, yay! Today, however, still more Muzha TGY from the thermos cup.

And how many countries' tea? Teas grown in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, USA, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and if we count herbal tisanes, need to add Germany at least. I won't hold the occasional nightmarish encounters with Earl Grey or English breakfast teas against England, however.

The usual suspects over here: Japan, China, Taiwan...I don't think I have anything from Korea...I guess I do have some stuff from the US as well.

4 I guess.

No Czech stuff yet, and likely not soon. Couldn't get my order in fast enough yesterday, so I'm trying to lay a thick blanket of guilty remorse on everyone who got what they wanted. :(

YM this morning. Good stuff.

China
Tibet/an Autonomous Region
Japan
France
USA

Hope to visit Japan and Korea someday soon with a large teaware budget. It would be torture to go otherwise! Also need to return to some of my tea friends in China with a large enough budget to get some more high quality Yixing. I'd like to visit Yixing myself, too, but only after I've made some real friends and connections down there. I think it would be too overwhelming to go without knowing someone.

Tea this morning was a fun experiment. Mixed some Wok-Fired Laoshan Green tea with a little bit of my Farmer's Cooperative Sheng Pu'er- the result was amazing! It tasted like what I imagine a Japanese green would taste like if I were able to get my hands on something picked and processed entirely by hand. It tasted like the most complex and interesting green I've ever had (similar to a Gyokuro, but leagues better than anything I could afford to try). The two flavors blended together so well- I'd never know there was some sheng pu'er in my green tea if I hadn't mixed it myself.

Has anyone else ever experimented with mixing traditional teas? I know that large brands like Liptons do it all the time (even across just one type, like Black) in order to get that same "Lipton black" flavor every year, but has anyone seen vendors out there mixing green and black, oolong and pu'er, etc?

I think I've got a new Truth or Dare-style game to play with friends on rainy tea days! "Alright.. if you had to: what traditional tea(s) would you mix with ________? Now, let's try it!"

teawares from japan, usa, china, taiwan
teas from japan, china, taiwan, india

Some lishan, great as always be sad when the bag ends soon
some aged dancong from houde, enjoying these brewed light in the morning or heavy when I want some energy in the evening, still trying to nail big pot brewing for the strip version, having no issues with either in small pot

the golden pearls is a pretty flexible dancong, I seem to gravitate towards it more as well when I am selecting a dancong to drink

It's nice to be able to drink these on an empty stomach in the mornings

My current teaware is mostly from China, with 2 pieces from Japan.

But I have a large international collection (20+) of ordinary 250 mL cups/mugs that were all used mostly for tea. I used to buy a cup as a souvenir whenever I was in an interesting city/country... Did anybody else had the same approach?

I'm sipping a 2007 Ba Xian Dan Cong from Tea Habitat. Very different from 2010 Canton Tea Co.'s Ba Xian. Hard to say which is better... Need more testing...

Usa
Kenya
Likely Brazil, unwittingly via Yamamotoyama
I know there are a few more ...

Began the TD with organic Yama no Ocha from Umami-Chaya with the Mrs. Next up, Yutaka Midori LE from the O-C.

Currently an oolong from IPT's store in Korean teaware by Seong-Il.
