I didn't know your jing was that long, but I'm happy you got to share it with someone.

I usually do solo 6 oz brews of green (just a little less than 200 ml) whether it be Japanese (kyusu) or Chinese (infuser basket). Did you use the same size cup for this sharing or did you find two half-sized cups?

I started off the day with Earl Grey Bravo in my tea mug to sip on during class. I just got my order of grapefruit oolong and rooibos vanilla in from Adagio and I'm drinking a second infusion of some grapefruit oolong right now!

Just got home from class, and am sipping tai ping hou kui (DTH) from a gaiwan.
Super elite tea facist....

Teas for today were Fukamushi-Sencha Maki, Da Hong Pao, Guricha, Houji-Kukicha. The Maki and Houji-Kukicha were both new teas for me. Good stuff! All this thinking about tea is making me thirsty. Time for silver needles.

Wow, reading this is really amazing...so many incredible teas in everyone TeaMenu.

Warden, how is that TPHK? It is over a year since I had that one. In a gaiwan, that must be really nice.

Jeez, JT...wow...

I could go down everyone's list...just a great TeaDay.

Sal, I use white Japanese 90 ML cups. So, it worked out well actually. The experience has shown me that I need to go to 180 ml so each pour would be 2 90 ml cups.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Two questions immediately come to my mind.
  • 1) How does the DTH Hou Kui stack up compared to the TeaSpring (assuming you've had it with its leaves that look like 2 to 3 inch green beans flattened by a steam roller).

    2) What are the details of your procedure for drinking right from the gaiwan?

Jeez, it is FINALLY time for more tea. This karigane/kukicha mix is going to be my third/fourth tea of the day.

First mug this morning was the casablanca twist from adagio. Mint tea to clear the sinuses and green tea for the caffeine burst make a great combination.
