Thanks all for the sympathy. Yesterday on the way home, I was able to pick kitty's remains up at the vet (yes, we had him cremated) and that has helped a lot. He was my baby.

(^sorry to hear about your kitty)

I chose 4-5 because I am able to get all my tea to come out well, and I never really think it turns out poorly. However my heating temp is more of an estimation, as all I do is boil water and let it cool a bit (for my green tea). As far as amount of tea, I don't have a scale or anything (though I am looking into one, maybe) I just go with a teaspoon.

4-5. I just cruised into scale territory about a month ago, and it turns out my guestimations were pretty accurate, but we'll see how I've been doing with temperature when the digital thermometer arrives.
