I usually will not have green tea after 2:30-3:00pm. If I have tea after dinner, I will have 1 cup of white tea. Before bed, I will only drink rooibos or herbal tea. This is just the habit I prefer at this time.
This morning I brewed a nice cup of white peach.

Well I feel like a wimp among all you folks who can handle tea right up to bedtime, but I have to quit around 6 pm if I want to sleep that night.
Currently enjoying a beautiful Ceylon OP from Upton. Ceylon isn't something I drink much of, but after all my recent green pu-erh guzzling, it's nice to drink something that just tastes like tea.

Heh, well, I used to think that caffeine of any description didn't affect me AT ALL.
Then I noticed that whenever I drink a cup of coffee prior to tea ceremony class, I can see the slightest tremor in my hand when I'm pouring water from the tea ladle into the bowl. Isn't that interesting! (The bowl of the ladle is comparatively heavy, the handle is long, and you have to pour the water slowly and steadily; so any lack of smoothness when holding the ladle is immediately apparent.)
So now I exclusively drink tea prior to tea class, since it doesn't seem to have the same deleterious effect
Drinking: PG Tips (with milk), because in an hour and a half, it's time for tea class.

Caffeine hits me HARD, so I have to ration myself. A case in point, I had a small cup of Adagio White Peach yesterday afternoon, and I was still restless at midnight. I have a touch of a headache this morning from it.
Green tea affects me much less than white. So, this morning's cup is sakura sencha, and I am switching to tisanes for the rest of the day.

Yesterday, I had a bowl of matcha right before I went to bed and slept fine... I don't think caffeine really affects me.

I haven't really had a strong reaction to the caffeine in tea that I have noticed.
Right now, some sencha before I make the weekend trek to do work (server maintenance, can't do it during business hours).

Caffeine apparently keeps me up at night. This gets especially annoying since I'm not waking up to go to work at 3am. So I have to stop drinking (tea) a bit early, though Friday and Saturday tea is unrestricted, and that makes the whole week better.

Yunnan golden tips a few hours ago and Ippodo Matcha Wakamastu no mukashi (usacha) before dinner.
According to Ippodo description, it could also be used for koicha. Is it common for a matcha to be used for both usacha and koicha?

A lot of mid to high grade matcha can go either way...so I hear.
I cannot really figure out the caffeine issue for me. I have always been on California time even though I live in PA. I have always been this way and always envy people who could go to bed at 10 and be up at 5 and do it easily or naturally.
But I don't think it has anything to do with caffeine since even before I drank caffeine I was this way.
Nevertheless, I try not to drink caffeine after 7-8 PM. But I do drink SLT (soggy leaf tea) which is maybe 4th steep or later steep leaf that I kept aside for the evening.
Drinking solo, would love to share a cup!

Had some First Flush Darjeeling half an hour ago, now some more but a Fair Trade one. The last Darjeeling was SO delicious, this is still cooling but I've sipped a little and it seems nice too.

I've been working on wearing out a large pot of Keemun this morning. Those who have seen the video understand why.

With a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old it would take WAY more than caffeine to keep me up at night. I think I could fall asleep WHILE drinking tea if I wanted.
Today is a great tea day. I was working on trying to get brewing right on my Ancient Emerald Lily this morning. Then I helped my husband finish a pot of Cheericup Ceylon. Now I'm having some Fukamushi Sencha. No rhyme nor reason today. Just going with the moment.

I'm awake now and drinking Glenburn estates FF Darjeeling from 2007. I have way too much '07 vintage to drink up still.
