Have a great day everyone.
Ditto. I'm not in it for a caffeine rush.

Okay, this kinda goes back to yesterday's topic but... Got two more steeps out of the Wen Mtn Baozhong Oolong from this morning & put it in the fridge. Makes a very nice iced tea! :D

Planning on experimenting w/the pu samples tonight. :? Not sure what to expect...

Dan Cong and Bi Luo Chung, separately, alternatively. I love having multiple gaiwans going at the same time.

I drink tea for different and various effects and cannot say which one is a dominating one. I have tea for caffeine intake in the morning to wake up. I drink tea for taste, because I like it. I drink tea instead of water and soda when I am thirsty. I drink hot tea for warmth in chilly weather. I drink tea for relaxation, for concentration and for general coziness. I drink tea instead of desserts (don't like majority of desserts, don't have a sweet tooth.) I also drink tea when I am bored and when I need a break.

It is amazing actually how versatile it is.

Shincha Hashiri in my cup. This time it is an after dinner dessert.

Malty assam. Yes, I use a french press for my black teas.
Ah ha, now I am not alone, another member who makes black tea in a press!

I however do not use the press strainer, I pour through a handheld strainer, easier to clean, plus that way the tea has room to swirl around while its brewing.

Just wondering.
Gui Hua. Plain ol'. Except the one I have is not tightly rolled.

Go Lakers! Woo hoo!

See if that works for you. Hopefully I don't have to watch the game.

Maybe I should have hung on to that box just a tad longer.

Muahahahaha! Too late now, the box has been sent!

As Beidao wisely said, brew them the way you like them! But for the record, the temp thing is that oolongs taste different at different temps, not that one is better than another. Fooling around with your water temp can accent the floral, the fruity, or other flavors. I personally use off boil almost always – because I am lazy and subtlety is generally lost on me anyway. That you appreciate the difference is an indication of your fine sensitivity to the tea. You Go Girl!

(Course, I am not ruling out the possibility that you are weird for other reasons! )
Hmm, so I have a fine sensitivity? I like that answer, sounds better than weird.

WOW, 3 different Shincha Fukamushi today...interesting comparing them!!! I will have to post in the Shincha topic. This is really amazing, all three different yet each sharing at least one or two characteristics.

I am in Shincha Fukamushi heaven...and am more than a little caffeinated at the moment.

Edit...Oh, in order of consumption...
Shincha Fukamushi from Hibiki-an
Shincha Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha
Shincha Fukamushi Maki from Den's...picked this one up at the Expo.

All my first teapots were these Bodum French Presses...every size I could get...pretty naive since they are all too big except one.

Now I do use them but mostly for large Iced tea batches.

Usually tea has a mildly invigorating effect on me. Pu-erh is different, though. That tends to be more soothing.

It's interesting that "chatty" is one of the poll choices. Whenever I have to do any kind of public speaking, I always hyper-caffeinate myself in preparation.

Right now I'm drinking an after-dinner cup of ripe pu-erh.

In my cup, evening edition:

Tao of Tea's poorly named "Deluxe Tieguanyin" oolong. Ha! This is a very light spring oolong I can almost get behind (still prefer those fired oolongs to the springs.) Brewed properly it does NOT look like the "amber brew" shown on the website. On the plus side, it doesn't taste (to me) like the blanch water from collard greens.

This week has been so hectic. Surely more caffeine would be a good thing. In which I usually find the comfort factor, but appreciate the energy boost! I have over done it, mostly on tea tasting days. :)

Glad to see Chip is enjoying the Nepal! Hoping to dig into the shinchas he kindly gave me tomorrow afternoon.
Had Yunnan Gold this morning, our Anteadote oolong in the car, and then the Nepal First Flush mid afternoon. Should have had much more!
I hope you dig the Shincha Fukamushi...they rocked me this Spring!

The Nepal FF is awesome and thanx so much for sharing it with me! I can't help but smell the dry leaf a couple times a day, WOWza!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

That cup is bee-you-tea-full. Could you give more info about it? I am getting the impression you are seriously overdue for your appointment with the Show Off Your Pots and Cups thread.

BTW, great photo. Thanks so much for sharing. Around here we love the graphical interface of tea.
