I am not that attached to the organic idea, but I would have organic when I can to spare myself unneeded hormones as well as for environment sake. I am more watchful with meats than anything else.

Had a very nice cup of Assam from TG, then kept drinking cold Baozhong that I started yesterday and it just wouldn't quit. Contemplating my next tea... Should it be Tai Ping Hou Kui or shincha...

I buy quite only organic food. For food with no organic certification available (fish, meat, clams and cheese), I buy it with other certifications ("Label Rouge" in France). This choice costs me about 150€ (225$) more by month than with regular food but I have the chance to live near two stores that sell high quality organic food which taste better than regular food.

For tea, well, taste comes first, organic or not.

This morning Silver needles, now Ippodo shincha.

I'm just glad we're getting into Farmers' Market season. I'm much more invested in local food than organic of late. It's so nice to actually talk with someone who grew the food or can tell you that it was picked that morning. Organic or not, fresh food has so much more flavor. I wish I had the dedication to be even more committed to local food, but since I live in New England I'd have a very boring winter. Life's too short. And we couldn't survive in this house without bananas and mangos.

Switching gears from the oolong to Whittard's Afternoon tea.

And I have two sleeping kids right now. Yay! RELAXING tea time!

Shuweeet choices. What did you choose?

I have not had TPHK since 2006. I saw a bunch of it at the Expo...torture. So for me, it must be shincha...

Thanx for all the compliments of the Tea on the Beach photo. :oops: It was fun staging the shot but enjoying the tea was the best part. Knew I had to post the pic early this morning since I was gone all day.

I absolutely avoid the teas marked artifically flavoured or sweetened - that sounds silly and obvious but I had to find out that a blueberry tea I liked had artificial flavouring by reading some very hidden print. ( it was a very long time ago when I thought all tea was natural and came in bags at the grocery store.)

I gave up milk in tea a while ago - but still sweeten with honey - and I think that confuses me with the flavors sometimes.

( maybe the honey adds a flowery taste ) but I like it -

otherwise - I don't really think tea is highly processed - so I don't particularly seek out organic

I've been drinking oolong #8 today - I don't think its as striking as TKY

That Baozhong just never seems to end. How can it do that? It's like a Taiwanese version of the miracle of the loaves and fishes.
