I voted salty and crunchy - Cape Cod potato chips are a big weakness of mine. Bags of chips do not last long in my house because I make them a meal. I don't get chips too often for that reason. Hard sugar candy is my other vice, but I don't make a meal out of Runts or Spree.

No tea this morning. That could explain my crappy day.

Victoria & Sal, beautiful pics. V, the purple flowers are very striking against the white & silver. And Sal, like how yellow background brings out the yellow in the throat of the flowers.

If I want a snack, bring on the salty & crunchy! But on those occasions that I want chocolate, the darker the better. Mmmm.

Used the last of the OBO this morning for my usual OBO#8 w/bfast. I've got 3 different tea shipments in transit so hopefully at least 1 will arrive today! *cues old Carly Simon song "Anticipation"*

I honestly do not have a snack vice. In fact, I don't eat between meals.

This morning, silver needles with my breakfast. Ippodo shincha right now.

Nothing fixes that like a nice shincha.

In the cup: Cold Brew Hibiki-an Farmer's Shincha.

No real snack preference. I go for whatever strikes my fancy at the moment.

I don't have a sweet tooth and I don't like the taste of junk food. Don't hate me, I have other bad habits, honest. Generally I am not in a habit of snacking, if I am once in a while, then it's fruit, nuts or cheese.

Finished the last of my can of Irish Breakfast this morning. 'Twas good tea.

I agree with that. Not big on sweets, not big on chips, sometimes crackers though. Love nuts and cheese too. Nothing specific that I crave or keep on hand. Sometimes I go though popcorn phases, I guess.

In my cup at work: Xiang Hua TGY from Jing.

I do have a sweet tooth, but the only thing I really can't pass up is good cheese.

In my cup: Bai Hao from Sensational. Almost out of this sample, and trying to decide if I prefer it to oolong#40.

There isn't much on that list that I don't like, except cake, generally. I loathe birthday cake.

Not sure what tea to try today. Maybe I'll break out something new.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm all for sweets. I just love them all, so there's no real preference. Right now i'm working on an almond raspberry crostata to go with my tea.

Those without a snack vice must be lying!

by Tadpole » Jun 17th, '08, 13:30

Alright, maybe not :) Many people are more advanced/mature/sophisticated than I am, I'll admit! My snack vice is the chocolately. Especially if it's filled with overly sweet creamy berry paste of some kind. You can get me to do your homework if it's blueberry.

I have a 2008 Spring LiShan in my mug at work this morning. I'm drinking it grandpa style - keep adding water to it till it tastes gross and must be tossed. I must say though, even when brewed gongfu style, I am disappointed by this year's, which lacks a fruity aftertaste I look for in this kind of tea. It is very thick liquoring, though, which makes working at my desk a bit more luxurious.

Nice pictures Sal, Victoria, and the Geek.

I need to do a TeaDay photo thread...a collection of all the submissions to TeaDay. I have been thinking about this too long.

This topic...it was too easy for me to compile the poll options. I try to eat generally healthy, but if it is in the house...it is fair game. So, I at least try to have "better choices" available.

Hands down first choice is DARK chocolate...which is almost health food in SMALL servings.

Started with Adagio Golden Monkey and moved on to Farmer Shincha. Farmer is ok, but I find it lacking the high points found in better sencha, which makes a lot of sense actually. It is just much mellower. As a result, it is pretty approachable.

I had some excellent chocolate (86%+ cocoa) after dinner.

Darjeeling Namring SFTGFOP1 in a few minutes

86%, wow, that is like "smack" in the realm of chocolate...I can handle Chocolate morphine at around 76%. The stronger stuff really stays on your palate a loooong time.

A lot of Japanese teas hold up well accompanied with a little dark chocolate. This Farmer shincha would get lost however.
