No tea today, been ill for a few days. I look at all the beautiful teaware and have to ask a dumb question. Can you put these teapots directly on an electric burner on a stove? Or do you heat the water in another vessel then pour into the tepot, add leaves and steep? Thanks, Jim! I voted marine.

Wow! I lost count of the number of steeps I got from the pouchong but just finished my last cup. Will be getting more of this stuff! :D First steep I kept water temp at 170* & it worked well.

Well I go hotter, but yes, I'm surprised how good it is too.
Don't know why it took me so long to try it.

i know it's late, but this topic has hit me deeply: i absolutely despise the aroma of chamomile. i don't mind drinking it, whether blended or plain, but i just can't stand the aroma. otherwise, though, pretty much any tea scent will appeal to me on different days, places, circumstances, moods, etc, so there's neither a real favorite or least favorite.

Fake jasmine. That is the smell I loathe. There is a teabag jasmine tea, can't remember the brand, but I swear it smells exactly like desitin diaper rash creme. Blech. I adore real jasmine tea, but that "enhanced" crap is nasty.

My mother-in-law LOVES the stuff. I like her enough that I bring her tea "treats" to try when I go over there. She likes it, and I dodge the desitin tea.

In the cup, the unfortunately named "Deluxe" tieguanyin oolong from ToT. Less oxidized than I prefer, but quite good.

Hi Jim109!

Heat your water separately. A kettle is for heating water and meant for stove top use. Teapots, gaiwans and the like are for brewing and should not be used on stove, burner, etc.

Sorry to hear you are ill! Feel better soon and have some tea! :D
