Independence Day? Yah, I guess New York is technically part of America... not that I would be opposed to an Independent "Atlantica" ( like Cascadia), the way the country has been [egregiously mis]"governed" lately... 6 more months! Not like that will really change anything, but it's good to dream...

Anyway, on a happier note, nothing like a good cup of Keemun Spring Dawn in the morning, to start a 3 day weekend!!

I'll be working all day, from 11-10, so it's more of a coffee day.

Okay, that was pretty funny. :D
This is the day that all American tea-lovers travel to Boston Harbor and dip their teacups into the drink for a celebratory cuppa. The tea has been steeping for about 235 years now... should be pretty well brewed

Happy Independence Day from a United Empire Loyalist!

I had to laugh at this. As I type this there is Lipton in the cup. I haven't had it in years.

Cold and rainy here. No cookout. Lots of tea.

My dad'll be manning the grill today, I made coleslaw yesterday and today I get to cut up watermelon and of course make tea (my grandmother loves it when I make her iced tea).
Life is like a cup of tea, savor it slowly or it will be gone too fast

Prolly won't be grilling today (it has been raining quite hard this morning!) but I'll be heading up to see my brother so I'll be hauling tea gear with me. Nilgiri and yancha all day!

Happy 4th Everyone!

For those of you who aren't in the States, get a sparkler anyway and have a great day all the same.

I don't think we will be grilling today, but I will definitely be drinking tea. I made a large batch of iced Peach-Ginger tea so between that and whatever hot tea I consume before the fireworks tonight, I should be set for tea.

I am starting today with Birthday tea.

Love the piggy. Love the cup. No tea yet today, I'm thinking of Zojilatte. Stayed up way too late last night processing photos, and the dogs started barking at firecrackers at 7:30am. Zombie-town around here. bleh.

It's pouring rain off and on here in KY... no grilling. My brother has some turkey breasts in the smoker, so that will be dinner later with a nice salad. I'm still feeling under the weather so I'll be vegging on the couch all day, reading Teachat and playing in VZones (my online virtual chat place) and napping and drinking tea.

In my cup this morning was some Scottish Breakfast Blend from New Mexico Tea Company... I acquired this in a teaswap. I tasted it plain and was like whoa that's strong and bitter! And I'd only done a 3 minute steep. Alittle cream and sugar and it was quite enjoyable, a nice strong cup to start the day.

Later I had some of my cold-brewed gyokuro, which I *Love*, but it seems to kick my digestive system into overdrive each time I drink it. Now brewing some nice basic black iced tea, using a new Adagio blend I got yesterday called "perfect sweet tea". We'll see if it lives up to its name.

Happy 4th to all. :)

Sarah

Sorry you're not feeling well.

I really like Scottish Breakfast. I usually have a box of it in the tea cabinet.
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Slept late, not feeing quite awake or with it yet. Having some of my
Adagio Blend, hoping to wake up.

No grilling for me sadly. I can't remember the last time I had BBQ
food. Dreaming right now of some fresh BBQ corn and a nice
New York cooked medium please.

Hope you are all have a nice July 4th!

What better way is there to celebrate the 4th of July than by drinking Chinese Silver Needles while admiring all those American flags with the "Made in China" tag on the back?

Tea drinking is especially appropriate today, as the Boston Tea Party started it all. I admire our founding fathers for being so principled that they could actually dump their favorite tea into Boston Harbor to make a statement. I don't think I could do that with my Yutaka Midori. Maybe I could with oolong though...

Happy 4th! :D
