Independence Day? Yah, I guess New York is technically part of America... not that I would be opposed to an Independent "Atlantica" ( like Cascadia), the way the country has been [egregiously mis]"governed" lately... 6 more months! Not like that will really change anything, but it's good to dream...
Anyway, on a happier note, nothing like a good cup of Keemun Spring Dawn in the morning, to start a 3 day weekend!!

Sal, that's a wonderfu cup!
I'll be working all day, from 11-10, so it's more of a coffee day.

This is the day that all American tea-lovers travel to Boston Harbor and dip their teacups into the drink for a celebratory cuppa. The tea has been steeping for about 235 years now... should be pretty well brewedbi lew chun wrote:Okay, that was pretty funny.tenuki wrote:Isn't today the day we all have to drink lipton?
Happy Independence Day from a United Empire Loyalist!
Prolly won't be grilling today (it has been raining quite hard this morning!) but I'll be heading up to see my brother so I'll be hauling tea gear with me. Nilgiri and yancha all day!
Happy 4th Everyone!
For those of you who aren't in the States, get a sparkler anyway and have a great day all the same.

It's pouring rain off and on here in KY... no grilling. My brother has some turkey breasts in the smoker, so that will be dinner later with a nice salad. I'm still feeling under the weather so I'll be vegging on the couch all day, reading Teachat and playing in VZones (my online virtual chat place) and napping and drinking tea.
In my cup this morning was some Scottish Breakfast Blend from New Mexico Tea Company... I acquired this in a teaswap. I tasted it plain and was like whoa that's strong and bitter! And I'd only done a 3 minute steep. Alittle cream and sugar and it was quite enjoyable, a nice strong cup to start the day.
Later I had some of my cold-brewed gyokuro, which I *Love*, but it seems to kick my digestive system into overdrive each time I drink it. Now brewing some nice basic black iced tea, using a new Adagio blend I got yesterday called "perfect sweet tea". We'll see if it lives up to its name.
Happy 4th to all.

What better way is there to celebrate the 4th of July than by drinking Chinese Silver Needles while admiring all those American flags with the "Made in China" tag on the back?
Tea drinking is especially appropriate today, as the Boston Tea Party started it all. I admire our founding fathers for being so principled that they could actually dump their favorite tea into Boston Harbor to make a statement. I don't think I could do that with my Yutaka Midori. Maybe I could with oolong though...
