I think it is about 90/10 with hot tea very much overpowering the iced tea consumption. Beyond the one or two weeks of 90* weather in central New York, it has been a nice enough temperature to be able to enjoy hot tea. I do enjoy iced tea and will probably go back to making some iced tea when I get back to college.

This morning, I decided to try the Keemum Imperial sample from SpecialTeas that I got from my neighbor, who had received a bunch of tea samples from a friend. It is odd. It is very mellow and pleasant tasting, but it gives me a cooling sensation on my tongue after every sip. I think I will just stick with the Nan Tou that I started yesterday for now.

50/50 for me when it's hot. I have a 6.5 y.o. who is getting hooked on sweet tea!

Another awesome picture, Salsero. I especially like the painted terra cotta pot in the back ground. I have one my Emmer (now 14 y.o.) made in preK and I still keep it despite the tempra handprints peeling off. :cry:

It's getting humid here in the midwest, so it is probably a good time to go see what I can brew and ice down to go with lunch. :)

10% iced tea because it's a nice alternative to juice and soda.

but i'm sure i'm not the only one that has this problem too. it's always cold all year round where i live.

Eighty-twenty, I think. Which puts me in a minority, I see. You guys are so purist! :P

Love the photo, Salsero. The violet and blue tones complement the cup and chataku perfectly. What is that purple flower, by the way? I don't recognize it...

i voted 10% iced tea but in reality its more like 2%. every once in a while i will attempt to make some iced tea but i never drink any prepackaged tea cause it just tastes way to sweet for me.

at the moment i'm brewing a japanese sencha.

I was thinking, not enough options since I am at 98/2 as well. I like it, but just rarely crave it.

Japanese sencha soon, but still Adagio Darjeeling this morning.

Love the photo, Sal, as always. My favorite subject, Fukamushi sencha. I will likely have this sencha shortly.

As for Iced Tea, I drank a ton of it on vacation... made a blend of Ceylon and Assam, I think the best blenders were Lovers Leap, Vithkanande Ceylons, and Meleng Assam... That citrusey-ness of Ceylon is awesome in Iced Tea. Great for the beach.

My 21 year old sis, her boyfriend, and my dad all loved it. Funny seeing people's reactions to decent tea when they are used to Snapple and Lipton ;)

A third option is room temperature tea- like red wine, you can taste all the nuances that way.

Nice pot Sal! Where's it from?

I drink 99% hot tea during even these grueling 100° days. I just drink teas that are "cooling" for me: green, yancha. If I drank a good pu-erh, I'd sweat like a pig.

Ceylon is my "base" for iced tea blending. I hear more and more about iced Assam. If I had some, I would give it a go. Since I don't really crave hot Assam, it is never around here.

I do the room temperature thing a lot as well, Joel. Works for some teas and terribly for others. You know it in the first sip.

It has been a really relatively cool Summer here after starting the Summer very hot. I am not complaining, but this has reduced my craving for cold iced tea as well.

I only drink iced things in really Hot weather - so my answer leans more to the hot, but in the process of cooling down. (Which leaves room temparature)(My FINAL ANSWER was 50/50.

Cool steeped Matcha gen mai cha for the day.

90/10 for me and it's actually much lower this year. I've not offically made a pot of iced, I've added ice to a hot cup gone cold. I order it in restaurants in the summer, but I haven't done much of that either.

Yunnan Gold for breakfast. I got in so late, and slept in so long this morning, it's really closer to lunch!

I suppose it is 80/20 for me. I have developed a taste for cold-brewed sencha and make it nearly everyday to take to the gym, for walks, or driving expeditions. I prefer it chilled, but not iced.

Love the picture of the day! I too want to know where this kyusu is from.

I'm in the 90/10 category. With lunch or dinner I usually drink water but will sometimes have iced tea. But like omegapd said, iced tea is a year round staple here so the hot weather has nothing to do w/it.

With held breath, I let my 5 yo dtr choose this morning's tea to go w/bfast. Must be training her right after all cause she picked Golden Monkey. The kid's got good taste! :wink:

While it's naptime, off to play w/the Hatsumi. I'm fast approaching the 30 days since I opened it so I guess I better drink lots of it this week.

Off to work!! Ugh! What day is this, Saturday? Ugh!! Maybe I'll talke along one of those Den's green iced tea bags that you put in your water bottle. Sounds refreshing on this hot day when I will arrive at a stuffy office!
