I *REALLY* want a hagi kyusu (teapot)!!!!!!
A good one could cost up to $250 though
Soon!.....Very soon!!! I will have one
Congrats Shogun! I have an order arriving any day - the last for awhile.shogun89 wrote:Yes I just completed a birthday list for Dragon Tea House, that includes my first Gongfu table. I also put down a set of celaden cups, celaden gaiwan, celeden serving pitcher and a gongfu brush.
I also got some celadon cups and that same pitcher!
This morning's brew - Glenburn Wiry Estate Darjeeling.
I am enjoying it in a new fritted glass cup from Molo, it is
a joy to behold this morning - I wish I could share with you
the picture, but the camera software is a long way down on my list
to set up after my computer crash.
Well, I must admit I am thinking of ordering this Yunomi (Japanese Green Tea Cup):
I should really save my $ tho, at the moment
And I have a 318-page book of Matcha Bowl photographs en route from Amazon Japan, if that counts as teaware.

Until that next "gottahaveit" teacup crosses your path!Victoria wrote: Finally got my new computer tonight after a bad crash and limping by with a loaner. The cost of this baby will slow me down in the teaware department for awhile.
Nice Pu, Salsero. Like teaware, every time I see a cup of Pu Ehr posted, I hit the kitchen and dig for something I haven't had in a while.
I was cruising through a local Asian/African/Mexican food market and they had some new teaware, but it was all crap. The cups were heavy, but all cheaply molded and they just glazed over the dirt and fingerprints, etc . . . Teapots were not all completely glazed. Easy to pass by! Most of my teaware is purchased without advanced planning.

I just picked up a tea pot for my large leaf teas so now I am set for tea ware so I voted no. I've seen some things I really like and I'll save the link, but I have no need for them and don't have that much room left in my tea ware cabinet so I have zero plans to buy any.
Feeling not so good this morning and someone decided to use me as dinner last night - I have 17 small but REALLY itchy bites on my back and stomach. If I make it through the day here at work, I'm going to have to go to the drug store because I forgot to bring some anti-itch cream with me after I put it on this morning and am already being driving nuts by the need to scratch. The good news is, I have one more thing to do at work before I'm done for the day.

Not really looking for any specific teaware but still constantly look. I never know when the right piece will 'speak' to me -- kinda like a cup & saucer I'm currently eyeballing on ebay. I only have 30+ teacups. What's one more, right?
Busy but fun day yesterday. Had family visit from out-of-town. Still managed to work in 3 teas, although 1 was the house tea at a Chinese restaurant & was mediocre at best.
This morning w/bfast was Shui Xian. I really like this tea & hubby does, too. It's becoming a staple in my house. Have a great day!

Celadon teaware FTW! I have looked long and hard at all those pieces, Shogun! Good thing I procrastinate in buying teaware. I am always window shopping, and TeaChat certainly helps. It is amazing how much teaware is out there.
Keemun Concerto this AM. I will be looking for the next tea soon.

I have actually spent my teaware budget for the next two generations. As a result, my children have completed sworn statments that neither they nor their offspring will purchase any teaware. ... unless of course something catches my eye ...olivierco wrote: I have already spent all my 2008 budget for teaware ...
Seriously, yesterday I never even got to a second tea for the day and now Chip has found O-Cha teabags that are worth consideration just when I thought I was completely off the bag forever. While I periodically binge, at the moment I am less about the container and more about the contents. I'm trying to congratulate myself on accomplishments or insights rather than on purchases. I'm sure the pendulum will swing back to getting and spending some time, but for the nonce I am enjoying a quiet sense of progress in shunning vanity.
In my cup, a just acceptable Fujian black called Emperor's Red bred of an infuser basket and glass mug. This is a product of STEAP Tea, a Wayne Tea Salon product on which I fear my eldest daughter spent too much money in a rare paroxysm of filial affect. I am wondering if STEAP sources this tea from SpecialTeas.
I am not quite actively looking for teaware at the moment. I recently acquired a 17oz glass teapot from Enjoying Tea which rounds out my collection of pots and replaces the Pyrex measuring cup. I also found a pair of mustard yellow cups without handles made by Syracuse China that my cousin's wife had used to plant marigolds in for her bridal shower last year. They did not make good flower pots since there were not any drainage holes in the bottom, but after a thorough cleaning, they are nice tea cups. I was also told by my boyfriend that I usually end up finding a new mug or cup every semester at college, so I will probably end up with some sort of teaware once I am back at college even though I am not actively looking for something.
Today, I have been finishing off some steeps of yesterday's Shui Xian.
