GeekgirlUnveiled – very nice image!
Voted 7 I love oolong tea in the afternoon. Just had the last bit of the rose scented black tea I bought at the Huntington Garden,Ca. Drinking it reminded me of the gorgeous rose garden they have. Sigh. Back to work.

I don't crave oolong but I just had my first pot last night. I saw a video on youtube showing how this tea is made. I was facinated by the process. All the drying and rolling and drying and squeezing etc. I ran out and bought some Dong Ding from Taiwan at my local tea shop. Fortunately I brewed it in my glass tea pot so I was able to see how the little oolong rocks turn back into leaves again by the second steep. By the end I had fully formed leaves in my pot. Looked like I had run into my backyard tea plantation and threw and handful of fresh leaves in. I smiled all night.

Back to Sencha Zuiko this morning though.

Yikes! Either that is a very small chawan or you use about a tablespoon of matcha. You are my matcha hero!

LOL! No, it's sifted. I used about 2 scoopful, which translates to about a generous teaspoon I would guess. Sifting makes it fluffy! Chawan is normal size.

I went for dim sum with my coworkers for lunch, and of course the restaurant provided us with non-stop loose-leaf jasmine tea! Mmm, I could drink that all day.

10. I cannot resist the oolongs - Absolutely crave them always.

Today though, in keeping with my Hawaiian mood I'm enjoying
some black hibiscus tea from Lupicia.

Welcome back, Victoria! Just in time for the Oolong topic. A full report on your Hawaiian TeaSearch is much anticipated! :D

Hmmm, trying to decide, green or oolong ... green oolong?

Thanks for the welcome back! Hawaii was fabulous and I spent a fortune on some great teas and teaware!

First, unexpectedly finding a Lupicia Store at the Ala Moana shopping center in Honolulu then flying to the big island for some one on one tea tasting at a local Hawaiian tea plantation. Lots to tell and pics too, but I'm still on Hawaii time and have unpacking, laundry and napping on the agenda for today!

Welcome home, V! Glad the tea plantation worked out. Know you were looking forward to that. Can't wait to hear all about it. For now, go get some rest!

Off to play w/Formosa Nut Oolong from Kymidwife. It's very interesting looking & I'm curious to see how it tastes.

Ah yes, one of the 6. The only one not in califorina as well. And one of the three I have yet to visit.

What a beautiful piece! You have a great collection of teaware. I see on the flickr photo page it's a Reid Ozaki. Do you follow Hawai'ian art/artists? His works are exceptional.

What was your opinion of being in a B&M Lupicia store?

Oh I thought it was great!! I was in there for close to an hour I bet as my family members waited patiently for me outside. The choices were overwhelming. Although many Darjeelings I was looking at were sold out, as well as a few oolongs. I loved browsing the teaware too, much of which is not on the site. I'll be debuting my new cup and saucer soon as I get to my pictures, on the Show Off Topic.
