Thursday TeaDay 10/02/08 Anything better than tea?

by Chip » Oct 2nd, '08, 02:02

WelcomeTeaFriends to TeaDay! I hope we can share some tea today. What is in your cup?

Yesterday, 70% of responders indicated they owned at least one Yixing pot. Several had more than 20. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic begs to be asked. Is there ANYTHING you ENJOY drinking more than tea? If yes, please share what it is.

I am always looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Nothing beats tea in my book. When I can, I drink about ten cups a day. Other than tea I am a pretty heavy milk drinker but I am genetically programmed for that. On a rough day my family of five will drink two gallons a day. I always tell my mom that it would be cheaper if we just bought our own cow. :P

Tea reigns supreme, if measured by amount drunk every day. But many of the best social experiences in life have often been accompanied by some sort of wine.

Tea even beats out wine in my book lately. Especially considering how cheap good tea is in comparison to good wine.

Currently drinking Baozhong Taiwan Wuyi from Floating Leaves tea. The first cup was overly bright and a little off putting, but by the third infusion it turned into something incredible. Perfect sweetness with a nice dark chocolate flavor. Once ounce isn't going to last long. Going to have to order more.

Currently wearing Comptoir Sud Pacifiques' Vanille Passion. Goes great with the tea.

The only drinkable thing except tea that I use to have at home is beer (mostly Bernard and Primator), which I sometimes prefer to tea when I eat. But tea is number 1!
I do enjoy Skånerost coffee sometimes but I don't drink enough coffee to keep it in stock at home. (Like sencha, coffee gets stale if it's not consumed within two weeks.)

Bancha with breakfast today too, my new standard breakfast tea - I'm not in a hurry to buy any new black tea.

Tea reigns supreme with me with occasional cups of water. I sip tea all day long. I just find it so soothing and comforting.

Heehee, I do drink water a lot more than drinking tea. I believe water is the best beverage in the world and it goes along with every food. Tea is the best of the rest.

While I drink a lot more water than tea, I don't enjoy it more. Tea is my beverage of choice.

Tea reigns supreme!
Isn't that why we are all here?

So many varities and choices, hot or iced,
it's just the best.

:)

Recently I tried steeping Cacao Nibs, just for kicks. It was quite good, but nothing beats the variety and clean high of a quality tea. Tea is just too gratifying to be anything but my favorite beverage, where ever I might end up.[/img]

Tea and water are the drinks I consume the most, and tea is my favorite of the two. Right now I wish I had a glass of good-quality orange juice, though. :)

Iced blueberry tea from the tearoom right now. I'm so bored with my hot tea options... Can't wait to place my Adagio order this weekend!

Very well said! :D The more I learn about tea, the more I'm amazed by the variety & the thousands of teas that can be produced from this one single plant. Like Beanbean, I may drink more water but I enjoy my tea!

Thoroughly enjoying this 2007 Wuyi Bai Mu Dan from the oolong pass box!!! Had I known it was going to be this good, I would've gotten more than a sample. Unfortunately, no time for a second steep right now but will revisit these precious leaves later. Today's my son's 2nd bday & I'm running errands trying to finalize everything for his Sesame Street party on Sunday. Have a good one!

*Edit--Photo wasn't here when I started typing. Neat shot!

Nice shot Sal, love the flower.

The pink and white composition goes nicely with
my chosen cup this morning - my new vintage
Limoges teacup with pink roses. For me, Limoges
is the ultimate name in porcelain teaware.

In my cup Makaibari Wonder, 2008 2nd flush organic Darjeeling
