Yes, very nice Andrzei Bero chawan.

Today I have tried the mochi, I haven´t found wagashi. It´s nice but too much sugar for me.

Nothing special but I'm very happy as I've just received my first Chawan and accessories. The starter set from Ippodo, the chawan in particular surprised me as to how beautiful it is; much better in real life compared to the impression I got from their website. Anyway here are the pics:

nice to be back home.
enjoyed this gelatinous 'okashi' that was covered in 'an' (beans) and within the sweet beans sarcophagus was a white mochi.

new 'old' chawan from home. i brought one back here to japan w/ biidoro.

cheers

It was a rainy day today, and whenever it rains, I always want to drink matcha. Today's matcha was Matsu no Midori in an onihagi chawan by Shibuya Deishi.

I haven't been able to drink tea in a while. My mother had a full knee replacement on the first of August, and I have been her primary caretaker. For almost all of last week, I spent most of my days in a hospital, and when I wasn't there, I was taking care of everything else. But she is recovering wonderfully, and I have been able to have a little time for tea now. I just ordered some Wakamatsu no Mukashi and Horai no Mukashi from Ippodo, and I can't wait to taste them!

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, but I am happy to hear she is doing better and that you are now able to sit and enjoy a chawan of matcha. That is a lovely chawan! I love that crawling glaze!

Really beautiful chawan, Fuyou. It almost looks like a heart shape in a few of your photos, and the matcha looks delicious. :)

IPT and karmaplace, thank you very much. This was my first Hagi chawan, and I really love it. The textures are mesmerizing.

New piece from GREENWOODSTUDIO, a little crawling shino. The rim is shaped like an ellipse so I was able to use my chasen even though it was a little tight. It looks really beautiful with matcha inside (today it was the very last of the iroka from Yuuki-Cha).

I've been trying out some new matcha; this is Korean "sejak powder" from O'Sulloc, a company based on Jeju Island. It comes in a large pill bottle-like container and has a smooth taste and makes a lot of foam very easily.

In my Landry Deese chawan:

The Wakamatsu no Mukashi and Horai no Mukashi that I ordered arrived very quickly, and of course I had to try them right away.

I had the Wakamatsu in a sansai chawan by Hosokawa Shuunen. I like how smooth and elegant the tea was.

I had the Horai in a Kutani-yaki chawan by Izukura Juro. The tea had a bit of a bite to it that I rather liked.

My newest chawan, a sea cucumber by Toshiyuki Suzuki. I grabbed this off Mago, and it's truly stunning. I have a number of heavy chawan and this one surprised me with its light weight.
