That is not too bad.
It is possible that the top and bottom were old repairs, done by someone who was not quite as talented as the original creator. It is still a fantastic piece!

That is very nice, Will. Love it. Too bad you had to drop another benjamin on it after it arrived. But at least the thing is lovely.

This one was actually out of my price range but after eying it for almost half a year I couldn't resist buying it:

Oh man,
I've been eying that piece too.
Super sweet.
and speaking of pewter.....
I just came into my granma's tea caddie.
It will be just decoratve for me. Although I always remember tea in there
as a child.

Because I practice tea ceremony, I've become very interested in tea tools, in particular chawan. I love collecting them, using them, and showing them off

Re: NEWEST CHAPTER! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XVI
Bizen is my favorite ceramic style in Japan, I love how earthy and dynamic it is. The clay of this chawan makes the most beautiful metallic sound with even the lightest tough, almost like a bell, and it's so satisfying to hold. There's a similar one from the same artist up for auction on ebay right now, so some lucky bidder's going to see just what I mean, soon

Wow, it has been 5 pages since I posted in this topic ... I have been looking, but just more than a bit distracted lately.
Beautiful wares woozl, Tobias, Will, and everyone!!!
Fuyou, love the Bizen-Yaki, have several pieces too ... but not a chawan, yet. I tend to focus on the yohen effect pieces.
