Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
Thanks Brad! Now that you mention it, it does! Maybe why I loved it so much. I'm a big Van Gogh fan!

Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
I dare say, I think I just got my most fascinating pieces yet, sorry Chip the SO's are great, and the two Teb Yunomi's constantly get used but these pieces are just wow!

Needless to say I'm happy, probably due to matcha and sencha session I've had, but these are certainly helping!

COOL!
Kashun and Noutumi are real faves! The Houjin looks much like "da Bombe" sans handle. I will have to post a pic. I was looking at that Houjin for a few months. With you being so close, maybe I will get a first hand looksie

Yes, stunning!
(I was eyeing that one too)
Maybe we'll get to see some shots of it with tea?
That'd be AWESOME!

First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem right? Well I have a Hagi Acquisition problem! I know you are all
shocked
to hear this
.
So I'm hoping I can hold to my will and say "no more until the next SO or my graduation!" So lets see if I can survive going cold turkey for 3 months.
And of course what this thread is made to do... Hagi pictures:

Thanks Adam! I will hold you to the SO pledge! Thanks for sharing the photos. Nice green Hagi, any details you can share?
Are those the Teavana Washi you got for Christmas? All crane themed?

Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
Hey Chip, they are the Teavana Washi I got for Christmas, and yes they are all crane themed.
The Green is a Chawan, that came in a rather interesting box, 4 bar with a rather thick lid. It was made by Tsuchiya Ikkou, and is rather deceptive size wise as at first I was confused if it really was a chawan or just a giant Yunomi. But it was easy enough to whisk inside it, and apparently there is a tall style of chawan. Thoughh this thing is either going to eat a lot of matcha powder or I will need to remember that instead of the 1/3 rule it should be more like 1/6 full with water, as the matcha I made was rather weak.
As for the two guinomi, I started test running them but quickly switched to other cups, as they clearly need much more treatment. Honestly not sure if its a storage smell, they actually were used for sake and it becomes really noticeable upon adding hot water, or of the clay is just really aromatically potent.
I did give them a sniff right out of the box and didn't notice anything so what ever it is its hidden deep inside.
