Excellent, thank you for sharing!
Even though I was not there, seeing the pictures of the items you selected -- and those being of so many of the people we have come to know here in this forum -- it seems so familiar and inviting. I truly hope your guests felt the warmth of all of those connections.

Nice bowl Fuut!
Wow - Blair! Fantastic. And John's bowl - really gorgeous.
Wish I could have somehow been there.
I offer a deep bow of gratitude for the sharing of your knowledge and your journey.

I finally had my first bowl of matcha today with a friend from Tokyo. I enjoyed it, especially the l-theanine feeling afterward.

You need to link to smaller version of the image to have them show up here.Pig Hog wrote:My Igayaki chawan of unknown artist arrived this morning. Prepared koicha using hibiki-an's matcha premium:

I've edited the post just to the links with no image tags. Does that work?debunix wrote:You need to link to smaller version of the image to have them show up here.Pig Hog wrote:My Igayaki chawan of unknown artist arrived this morning. Prepared koicha using hibiki-an's matcha premium:

Fuut,
Depending on your chawan or cup, and how porous the glaze is, it's not a good idea to use alcoholic beverages in the same vessel you use for tea. The vessel can absorb the alcoholic flavor and affect your next session. Hagi and Raku are especially sensitive to this.
