This 85ml beauty by Chen Ju Fang is made from aged Huang Long Shan clay. I've not had any direct experience with this clay before, but it's beautiful in the hand and makes excellent tea. I had originally planned to pair this with Yancha, but Nada says it's especially well suited for roasted oolong and puerh. I'm testing it now and will let the teapot decide.

I had sworn off buying any Yixing teapots that I didn't have the chance to examine in person, but I had to make an exception for this one, and I'm so glad I did...

I also bought this pot. I decided to pair it with aged oolong because the shape doesn't fit with yancha.

So far I got good result with aged baozhong and donding.

I also bought one of those Chen Ju Fang teapot, #02 - 10...
I make it work now with sheng pu er...
I feel it is very porous, it "drinks" part of the tea, and there is a permanent smell in it, apple, pear, leather...

Like it a lot :D

The $6.50 "beautiful fake" is becoming my favorite pot. I use it for any tea that I don't want to risk wasting. It's getting quite a workout every single day!

I like to think it's like the little engine that could:

"I think I can. I think I can!"

It's more "terra cotta" than yixing though!

Hard to tell due to the quality of the photo, but I'm going out on a limb to say that's probably the best $6.50 teapot I've ever seen.

Time to take of the "training wheels" cord.

A little teapot made its way to me from a vendor who started out as a member here on teachat. This late 90s zini shui ping (90ml) is from Origin tea. I need to test it out, but I hope to use it for Aged Sheng Puerh.

Not a very sandy pot but clay still looks very nice. I should mention it looks more purple in person. In person its an almost maroon color.

I think I have the same one, minus the cord. I checked the vendor on eBay last night, and he has them available in sizes from 50ml to 250ml. In fact, a 6 pot combo is $40!

It's not a 'fake pot'. It's probably yixing clay, just definitely not factory #1 clay. It's good you're enjoying it, I think you got yourself a decent everyday pot.

The inside of the pot is much rougher than the outside and it was clearly spun on a wheel. That's the only down side IMHO.

I call it a "fake" because they seller says it's "factory 1"
