Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
Thank you very much. I was wondering if my commentaries end up being too long. It's so difficult for me to say everything I want to say about these pots without writing a flippin' essay. Yes it takes quite a while to figure out the way the firing truly affects the tea and it takes even longer to figure out which levels you prefer and then that can't even be constant either because different teas work better with different firing levels. There are so many variables that can't be controlled or kept constant that the more and more you experiment, the more you realize that MarshalN makes a very good point in saying not to get too caught up in the specific clay categories and subcategories and just focus on which teapots suit your personal preferences better and of course which teapots make the best cup of tea (regardless of how bad the craftsmanship is) because in the end that's what really matters unless of course you are collecting the teapots just for display. Look at that I wrote another essay trying to explain why I always write essays lol!Math wrote:Very nice teapots ImmortaliTEA! Love your pictures and your lenghty commentaries on your pots. Keep it up! I'm still in the process of learning how different firing affects the outcome of the tea.
I hope to post some pics of my pots one day too, once I've acquired a decent camera.

Size: 200 ml
Age/Year: modern, maybe early 2000.
Walls: Feels thick. Smaller spout.
Pour: ~ 18 sec. No drips. Great lid fit.
Tea Pairing: future endeavor!
I'm heading back to my "headquarters" soon for work, and I was looking for a larger teapot in order to share tea with any interested co-workers.
I've seen other types of speckling that are often much larger pieces of duan ni, and also the speckles often are fully raised on the surface of the pot -- I really do not like that style. So this pot caught my eye because of the subtle speckles.
I'll be testing various types of tea with it, but likely I will use it for some type of oolong.

Thanks Poohblah.
Here you go Chrl42:
Benshan Muo Luni 50ml, the clay is Fantastic it keeps the heat for very long time.
Any idea when this was made?
Hong Ni 60ml, the clay smells weird maybe due to low fire?
Zhuni 65ml or Hong Ni high fired ?
Zini 65ml, I love the clay and the patina, it has very thick walls.
Nei Zi Wai Hong 80ml
Hong Ni, Orchid decorated, lid fit is very loose. It has a lot of silver dots inside, feels very smooth like a bit oily but with a dry looking (not sure if that make sense?)

Use the hongni a few times, the clay smell should dissipate.
Lovely lovely zini, a tea drinker's kind of pot

Because pics are still small..I might be darn wrong as well.
3rd SP follows 70's fashion, clay-texture looks 'fen tai'..real fen tai pots have excellent porosity.
4th pot, 3~4-cup size, square ZGYX is mid-70's F1 tradition. But the seal isn't clear nevertheless I bet to say the clay looks good.
5th and 6th look fine as well. 6th doesn't look Factory-1 however, F1 did have that-looking pot in 70's tho. Never seen such seal as 宜兴南孟臣制
Overall I like 3rd and 4th, because Nei Zi Wai Hong pots are easier to see nowadays. But seeing those mere pics, speaking assurance is limited
