Lovely kyusu! Similar to my one but my handle flairs out.

I first noticed the Junzo black Kinsai Kyusu when a fellow teachatter ordered one as a 'consolation prize' after missing out on the Gisui SO. I resisted buying one then, but TAD will out! When I saw the post by Tobias I went directly to Artistic Nippon and ordered the last small (140ml) pot, and added a cup for good measure.

The cup looks oddly large with the pot since it was probably meant for the larger kyusu. It's beautiful on it's own, and if I don't enjoy using it with this pot, I'll find something in my ever more crowded teaware cabinet to pair it with.

Does everyone's Junzo "hiss/fizz" upon pouring hot water into the kyusu in anticipation of tea?

Wasn't so sure about the tiny chunks of feldspar at first.... but its sort of grown on me. Gives it a very "organic" feel I think : D
I was a bit worried too that there would be craftsmanship quarks... as Gisui pots seem to have poorly fitted spouts, etc. But so far everything seems really solid! I noticed the spout curves slightly ala tachi masaki style.
I dunno if it helps with the pour, but its does its job p well

I was lucky to email Takeyoshi Kojima at tokoname teapot not too long after he visited to Gisui's workshop!

The spouts on the gisui,s are among the best for pouring. The only issue is that sometimes the spouts are fitted in a way that they cover up some of the filter holes on the direct model. The one I bought from the group buy had about 70 percent of the holes covered. derp
