Tobias, looks like an SO session with the ROCK and Gisui.

Nice to see some action.

Ok, pig hog, I was able to view your Junzo. I must get mine out. Enjoy.

Ahhh out of the blue today I get an email. Its from a vendor I contacted around a year ago. I was asking him for a Yamada sou kyusu. He got me to post him a picture and said he'll speak to the man. 1 year passed......... Well he did and he made me one to my spec. Seems rude to refuse the sale now doesn't it

Trouble is I really don't need another pot. But rather then think on it I ordered, there was some language barrier going on and I didn't realise what I was doing.. Some pics in coming and if I can't find a use for it I'm sure someone here with take it off my hands.

Hi Alex, is this the round with recessed lid like you were searching for?

Best,

Yeah it was the exact style I asked for within 20ml. I was quite surprised. I've never commissioned a piece by accident or on purpose.

Got the Yamada and Siggy today. Siggy is going back due to size being larger then listed and drainage being not as good as I hoped, even though its a nice pot.

Some thoughts on the Yamada Sou

-Clay is superb
-Pour is as good as I've ever seen. Its up there with Teruyuki.
-Graceful, the highest grace I've felt from a pot
-flawless fit and finish, while still being rustic
-feels special knowing it was made for me, I've never commissioned a piece before
-worth the 3 year wait.
-I'd advise anyone on the fence to grab one. Pictures simply don't do them justice.

They'll be some pictures tomorrow!
