it's much lighter than it looks being made of bone china, it pours like a dream even when at capacity.

It's amazing! It definitely has a very heavy presence. I love the handle.

That's a great looking Kyusu! It has a lot of personality. I like the strainer's square holes, it really adds to the overall appearance of the piece.

Wow, Victoria, that is really beautiful, I don't think I've seen a handpainted banko. Where did you find it? What kind of filter does it have?

Thanks, but I don't think it is hand painted, more like a stencil but I'll have a closer look. It's from CD Japan.

I have probably 8-10, and use only 1-2. Before answering the survey I just didn't realize this. I seldom use a kyusu but just love Japanese porcelain!

Awww thanks!
It is 8-10 oz. With a 360 screen.
Nicely balanced, it will stand on its handle.
Fast pour.

Great Kyusu-s, Geek, blairswhitaker, and Victoria! Thank you all for sharing them with us.

OK, pardon the double post, I posted this in the Hagi topic yesterday, but used this today! I should have taken an action photo ...

Ao Tebineri Hagi-yaki. Seigan Blue (SO #11). This is a pretty substantial piece but a blast to use!!!!! It has an amazing feel in hand.

Sorry, not the greatest photo, just a phone shot.

Nice Chip! I am working on a pic of all my Seigan Blue right now. A kyusu would be a nice addition.

My first kyusu ever arrived in the mail today from Hojo. I am so pleased! No more using a sink strainer for sencha or fuka-like leaves  . Artist is Gyokko and it is made from red clay using the Yohen technique. You can't tell from my photo (I will master that later) but it is black with rusty red on the spout and handle fading into the surrounding black. It brewed up a heavenly batch of Hon Yama Hebizuka for me, which Hojo included as a sample. I will be reviewing that one as it is scrumptous.
