Great looking chawan and I think the picture shows it off perfectly.

My new Shiboridashi made by Hiroshi Koie. I had an amazing Rimpo Gyokuro session with it.

It had been quite some time since my last teaware purchase. I thought my collection was complete but there was obviously a gap to be filled.

Five yunomi (70ml) including one with a golden repair (not that I am found of golden repairs per se but it means that the previous owner cared much about his teaset)

a matching yusamashi

and a kyuusu (holds about 200 ml)

Great new wares JeiKun and Olivier.

Olivier, is the set Arita-yaki?

JeiKun, I like the somewhat intermediate stature of your Shiboridashi, sort of like a Houjin which personally I prefer to the very low Shiboridashi that are more common.

Where did you purchase it? It appears a bit large, how much water do you use for gyokuro?

Thanks.

Very nice JeiKun4114, congrats!

Wow, Olivier, that's a great set. I agree, the repair in this case makes it special. Killer yusamashi!

Thanks Chip I found it in a small tea shop in Odawada city Japan it caught my eye because it looks different then the more common, just like you said, I also really like the finish look on it I use 120ML of water per 2 tablespoons of Gyokuro, seems like a bit much but the brew comes out real good with the right temp and time.

Ohhh, right ... you are in Japan. I will have to look on a map for your city.

I am also curious how much such an item would cost in a B&M store in Japan? If you do not mind. Thanks.

my city is real close to Shizuoka prefecture, I dont think there are any B&M stores in Japan, are you talking about that bargain store?, if there are I don't think they would sell hand made good quality tea ware, if they so happen to sell then I need to know so I can stock up on some good tea ware for cheap prices LOL.

Ooops. Sorry, B&M means brick and mortar as in a physical store versus an online shop.

My new shiboridashi from Petr Novak - it took three months by surface mail to reach me here in Australia and I was on the verge of giving up on it when it arrived this morning.

I christened it with some Zhong Shu Hu oolong from teafromtaiwan.com
