I was drinking some Tie Luohan Wulong this evening and dug out my little saucers. They are from the mid-Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and are perfect for gongfu tea. I'm not exactly sure what their original purpose was. They are similar to the chili sauce dishes we have, but they are way too shallow to hold much. Whatever they were for, they are now teacup saucers and are. I just thought I'd share.

Great collection.
So, whose collection is this? It is an individual's??? Or a public collection?

Anyway, great collection indeed!

Took these a while ago, before I got my tea tray and a new table (hoorah), so I apologize for the quality of the photos...and that I took them on my kitchen counter.

My sakura blossom Tokoname kyusu I got from Yuuki-Cha back in June, paired with one of the two pink Megumi hagi I got from Artistic Nippon (I'd been wanting them since I saw Victoria's).

My collection has been growing. I need to take some more photos.

Lovely collection! Kyusu are so cozy-looking. One day, I shall have to make the leap from tetsubin and try one.

Thanks! And, I actually have a large gorgeous purple and gold tetsubin that I had to leave in the States when I moved (along with many, many other things). I plan on bringing it back with me after I visit, but it's been so cold lately that I've been missing it terribly (I miss the ease of brewing several cups and keeping them hot for a long period of time). :(

In the move I only brought with me my kyusu, one infuser mug, two chawan, two cups, two coffee mugs, and a few tins of tea. I now have too large of collection here to recall off the top of my head.

Dunno Chip, I just found it on uTube and can't read the description. I wish I knew more. They all look museum quality to me. Truly inspirational for this potter though...

I know what you mean! Until I can obtain some fancy display cabinets, I rely on Rubbermaid for all my storage needs. The love of tea(ware) knows no bounds!

Hello everybody!
Yes, he is also a collector but he is especially great Czech potter, Jiří Duchek from Czech village Mutějovice. For more interested members here is his website http://keramikaduchek.wz.cz/.

Soon I post some pics of my pottery from him :)

Yes, Jirka Duchek is great potter, craftsman and artist who lives in village Mutějovice. Those bowls and cups from the video are "treasures of the kiln" ( as Jirka says...)
