Of course. Pings like a bell!

clearly very high fired and 100% handmade.

Today I was unsuccessful in my quest for a few more of the 'Ten famous teas' when I went to Wing Hop Fung, but I did find something unexpected in the teawares area....a nice box:

Full of pretty cups

The cups have an extremely shiny glaze, so they're quite tough to photograph

but pretty enough to be worth some effort

best part is that are a near perfect match for the size of my gaiwans.

I recognized the style of box this time because of my TC Hagi SO experience--before that, I'd passed by the boxes without realizing that something very cool might be inside.

Really lovely cups debunix - how much do they hold?

I'd like to show you my new ones from YS.
The Bamboo Grass Cups.
Hold 40ml - just right - I don't like smaller ones.
And they are even more beautiful than on the pictures.

My new cups hold about 4 ounces.

I already have some lovely ones that hold just under two ounces, similar to your bamboo seagrass cups. I suspect that is a popular size for something other than tea, because there were several patterns in that very small size with other japanese tablewares, far from the tea things.

The ideal size what I am looking for now. When I drink alone I love a cup about 100ml - so 3-4 ounces would be great.
I took a look on Wing Hop Fung but didn't find such boxes or even cups. Do you have a link for me? :)

Thanks Victoria and Chip. I have very small cups too - about 15-20ml - they are not really convinient. My father called them thimbles

No link, sorry. WHF has only a small fraction of their offerings online.

My first Hojo purchase. I actually went to their website to look at the Shigaraki kyusu due to the very positive comments made on this forum, but I saw a couple of new listings for Gisui kyusu and ended up with this Tokoname instead (rough clay mogake 180ml):

I had attempted to place an order with Hojo two years ago, but due to a very slow response I ended up going elsewhere. The response this time was very fast and professional so the order was actually placed, with a follow-up tea order as well. They do have a great selection of tea and kyusu. I'm glad the forum comments about Hojo have been so positive, otherwise I may never have given them a second try.
