Small Japanese tea tray just in from artisticnippon.com

Sent Toru a picture of what I wanted and he dug this out of his stock. All one piece of zelkova wood.

Love the Zelkova tray, Alex, the simple beauty of a single carved piece of wood is amazing. Great find!

Love the Korean pieces debunix ... I almost purchased the pitcher!

Great little Gyokko kyusu, Chubseus! Be sure to post in the kyusu topic! I have checked the rakuten store a bunch of times. How was the transaction? The prices seem pretty typical, but I don't quite "get" the store sometimes.

sebpassion, I like the cups and bowls, pretty cool. The kyusu ... I am guessing this is a bit of a work in progress?

Amazing yunomi, Tobias! Any interior photos, feetsies?

Tim, very inviting! Complete with a setting for 9. Hope to join you one day!

Pretty good. I must have messed up my credit info when I first ordered it, so it was a little hard at first understanding each other and what happened, but they held the item and waited for me to reorder and it went through fine the second time. Received it 6 days after ordering.

Here's the cups I bought to go with it: a simple white cup from Lupica, and a blue cup from Mariage Freres.

Picked up this pair of Yunomi on a trip to flagstaff, AZ. These were made by my professor Jason Hess.

He has this to say about them, "reduction cooled woodfired Iron rich stoneware with feldspar inclusions, shino type glaze, white slip
60 hour firing"

I really like these cups they are very tactile and Jason is an amazing potter and knows his way around a woodfire kiln. Hope you enjoy...

Looks a bit like some Shigaraki ceramics I saw in Japan. That's very nice.

Here are my latest acquisitions from Mago :

This little guy here came from Dragon Tea House on Ebay. It was christened with a 2012 first flush Imperial Pure Bud Bi Luo Chun, and then took it for a spin with its intended tea: pu-erh. Namely the Mengku Mu Ye Chun 001. It performed well, and my poor little fingers thanked me.

Artist's rendition of Camilla? Best guess considering the title of the pot was Camilla. Kinda looks a little more like a peony though. :?

Could be a Camellia--from the photo I was thinking peony at first. But there are Camellias with coloring and shape rather like that

House in the Missouri Botanical Garden, where they have a splendid Camellia collection.
