The kyusu resembles a Yamada based on the clay and signature horizontal lines. But the spout and more glossy appearance says the maker may by Fugetsu, a potter trained by Yamada Jozan 3? Or am I just blowing smoke?

Fugestsu are really nice. I have yet to get one form this artisan.

Really enjoying it so far. But haven't used it enough to give a thorough review

Does it have a ball screen filter or a direct wall screen? If in doubt, photos.
I have noticed increases in the cost of Yamada Sou kyusu. Not sure if it is currency fluctuation or demand driving the price up.

Yeah? I saw a new wood fired pot a few days ago by him on AN for around 240 ish. Which... doesnt sound too outrageous .I'm still a noobling, but it seems like most of the wood fired ones run in the 400 + range

Yamada Sou's wood fired do vary in price, but are not as expensive as some artisans'.
Fugetsu uses a lot of ball screens.

New gaiwan from tea trekker. quite a bit nicer than your typical cheapy gaiwan.

It's lovely. All those little fissures in the glaze should add a lot of wonderful character as they get darker with time and tea. Do you have any pictures of the inside, or the 'foot'?

Not nearly expert enough to say: I've seen quite a lot of stylistic variation in things made in Hagi, enough so that some people are not comfortable giving the label "Hagi" to them.
