Finally got around to a photographing some new teawares and even posting the shots. This lovely cup is from
shyrabbit:
I just loved the deep rich blue of this stunning glaze, so easy to appreciate in person but so hard to capture in a photo.

I bought another pot and several small cups by Seong-il from TeadOff a while back--another perky little shino pot
now in regular use for roasted oolongs. The crackles on this one
are not darkening at the incredibly rapid rate of my first Seong-il pot, seen here in this 'family portrait' at the left
The cups have a delicate pale peach interior
almost luminous when holding tea.

Last teaware for the day: a summer galaxy glaze guinomi by Tetsuako Nakao
It's not the most practical cup, as it's tiny and very thin walled--a bit thin for use with really hot brewed teas, and a bit small for the larger infusions I usually do with green and white teas. But the price for the sake cup version was also tinier than the price for his teacups and teabowls.....

A Tetsuaki Nakao Spring galaxy yunomi, the picture didn't turn out as pretty as Debunix's but somehow it seems I always end up with more teaware instead of a new camera...

That's a lovely cup. Just out of curiosity, how thick are the walls? Is it thick enough to be easy to use with hot-brewed teas like puerh and oolong? If so, I might be able to justify an additional purchase someday....

+1
I just tried it with some oolong and it gets really hot, I was still able to use it but I had to use a weird grip to avoid burning my fingers.

Interesting. In that case, I won't be rushing for a larger cup and will continue to enjoy my small treasure with cooler teas.

Cross post with Matcha thread I guess, but got a new chawan & teacup from a cool local potter here in Pittsburgh. He's focused mainly on Japanese pottery. See his item's on etsy here:

I have always admired the work of Murata Yoshiki. Recently, I procured a mogake shiboridashi set made by Yoshiki. Toru, from Artistic Nippon, helped me find the set. As many TeaChatters have said, he is absolutely amazing!
The set contains a shiboridashi (90mL), yuzamashi (130mL), and two cups (30 and 35mL). The clay color is off-white / tan with small black flecks in it. The mogake on the cups is a dark brown and is golden / brown on the shiboridashi and yuzamashi. I used the set a few times to brew O-Cha's Tsurujirushi and followed Chip's directions for brewing (2 grams of tea per 1oz. water at 130 degrees). Good does not even begin to describe how amazing it turns out!
I hope you all have a great day! Enjoy!
