It feels smooth and to me is wonderfully crafted.
There are leaves in the botton of the pot

It looks nice, - - after you mentioned her name, I checked out some of her work and found it a bit garish and ostentatious for my taste. But this one looks comfortableand exquisitely made
. Though it is perhaps too large for many tea chatters
What size is it?
Have you decide what to use it for?
In search of truth wrote:Alternatively,we can use my Whieldon Punchpot (Circa 1750 and 24.3cm tall) and brew up a weeks supply.
How much around did you paid for thus Melon? In search of truth wrote:7cm tall, sits nicely in the hand but resides in a cabinet until it is identified as genuine or not.
Well, I dont think we need the actual price... I am not asking for that anyway. In search of truth wrote:Confidential Tim.
It looks genuine and its value may be quite high,I don't really know as her prices in China are very high but in the West ?
100% not a Genuine Article. SorryIn search of truth wrote:Tim,I'm not at liberty to divulge but it was not a great deal.Under £500.
What is your view of the teapot ? Perhaps more pictures tomorrow to help evaluation of its possible genuineness or otherwise ?
Sorry to butt in on the discussion here, but I'll go ahead and ask the obvious hanging question -- do you make this assessment because of the price range, or because of something in the photos about the pot, or some other factor...?TIM wrote:100% not a Genuine Article. If the pot was a genuine 蒋蓉 (Jiang Rong) the price would indeed be way too low, however prices don't really help much as one can get lucky too sometimes and buy from someone who doesn't really know what they have. Anyways, the leaf doesn't look alive and is too heavy, rather crude lines too, that was not her style. Even most Jiang Rong copies, or should I say homages, do look different.Drax wrote:Sorry to butt in on the discussion here, but I'll go ahead and ask the obvious hanging question -- do you make this assessment because of the price range, or because of something in the photos about the pot, or some other factor...?TIM wrote:100% not a Genuine Article.
