Re: Not my teaware.....but I wish it were....
A lovely series of pots. That first blue pear-shaped pot is just lovely, and the beautiful kintsugi on the simple yixing (the first repair) is really an elegant touch. It's clear this pot was worth it to someone.

the last one isn't kintsugi - the gold/brass rim is a late qing design, not a repair IIRC

Here is some more information about the repair and how the pot broke. I don't know if the gold rim is a part of the repair or not.

...and if I had that sort of money to spend I'd be in a bidding war with you for every single one.

Those are lovely. Anyone have a sense of what the typical markup is for the export market vs buying in Japan?
Has anyone not in Japan tried placing an order with a site like Saito-an?

Personally i like the circular ones, but the squared on 4 feet doesn't look as beautiful to medebunix wrote:Some lovely things by Kaneta Masanao just appeared on Magokorodo's e-bay shop...I'd like them all....

I rather like the combination of the soft shadings of those glazes against the sharp lines of some of the more squared off pieces.....but if anyone wanted to give me a rounder version, I'd enjoy that too....
