Re: The process of making a Yixing teapot
OK Andrszej, how do you interpret this last stage, I had to view the sequence several times before I think what i see is
Sealing the top of the pot with a full disc, then removing the centre which is where the lid will eventually sit, the part of the disc that remains is the top of the pot that could not be achieved from the initial cylinder ? ? ? ? ?

Re: The process of making a Yixing teapot
I have here more questions than concepts:) Don't want even speculate...
but can't resist:)
first post Sep8th;
1th picture - clear
2nd / 3rd pic - what you call " Sealing the top of the pot with a full disc" ?
I see the same btw great skill (finding and keeping size; no slip)
second post Sep 8th
all clear
third post Sep8th
skip
4th/5th postSep8th
...turned ..ok but I started to be confused, what does she measure? and in next/ post she change its size (or that is other disc?) but on last pic in last post disc is back biger and looks like sealing????? Don't like to feel stupid:)

Re: The process of making a Yixing teapot
This is incredibly interesting. I know practically nothing about yixing pots and this is pretty cool to see how they're made. Keep it comin'!

Yinwenqian,
Please, go on with your story. We are waiting (I am sure not only me).

Re: The process of making a Yixing teapot
Good to see you back!
Sorry to hear that you are so busy, because I am waiting patiently until you finish this sequence, so that I can ask you a huge favour.
Can you then, show us a few photos of the body of a half-handmade pot being made using a mould.
Particularly the mould itself being made
