metal filters for yixing

by davelcorp » Feb 16th, '12, 00:22

I have a single-hole yixing pot that came with a small metal filter for the spout hole. It is a round metal cap with multiple holes and pops into the spout hole via a wire clip.

I'm trying to find an online source for buying a few more of these filters. Any suggestions?

I think someone on here posted a picture on here of a homemade filter awhile back. If i remember correctly it looked similar to this but much smaller. Sounds like this is different than what you have though.

I imagine its gonna be pretty hard to find one like you already have in a store or online but maybe someone like Scott could source something similar for you.

I think I know someone who can supply such things. Do you need a lot?

I know that J-tea sells them in the store, but they dont appear to be on the website. Might be worth a call or e-mail.

Moving this to Teaware and Accessories. I will leave this as a "shadow" under Pu-erh for a short period of time for those looking for the topic there ...

If you are referring to the ones wound from wire into a spiral with a tail end that hooks onto the spout then stainless welding wire would probably allow you to make any size you need.
