From Daniel. I actually also own the other Ju Lun Zhu from there that Wyardley posted about on the last page as well but I like this little ones clay a little more. But after seeing the 100 ml Zi Sha in a similar shape that someone else said they got from Daniel, it just appears he can find some pretty good clay or pots. Then again about the pairing though, after remembering the way you guys brew high fire TGY, I would say this pot will not brighten the high notes like the little blue. I guess just something to keep in mind.

200ml is a lot for me though.. I rarely drink oolong with company (unfortunately) but it would be nice for the cheaper everyday oolongs instead of having to do multiple infusions in my little gaiwan (I've tried getting a larger gaiwan, too clumsy for me!)

I might email them and ask if they have anything smaller coming along at a later time.. 100-150ml would be enough

Wow so funny I have to step right up next in line and say as well "Hello, my name is Nick and I am a shui ping addict as well" (all yixings but especially shui ping). 22 counted as of yet. Best yin/yang balance!

Funny thing happened today... I asked a friend and Yixing collector if he had any 100ml or less pots for sale lately. He emailed me a photo of this 60ml beauty. It's a modern piece made to look like an older Qing Dynasty pot, but to me it looks like a perfect blend of the two shapes I mentioned above- a Duo Qiu mated with an older Japan export! Needless to say I purchased it! I'll post more photos when I get her. Like I said... simple rustic charm!

I had this pot from Daniel as well. I used mine for old sheng. I let go of it recently on teaswap. I have kinda regretted it ever since. I am guessing tingjunkie's is from a different source as the clay lookes slightly different. But I am going from pics of the pot already seasoned.

Oh wow I'm glad someone else can echo what I said about this being a great brewer. I only tried mine with puerh once because after I tasted the high roasted Yan Cha made from it I knew immediately that it was as good as dedicated. It's amazing because you would never expect such a porous and soft clay type pot to retain all of the aroma, while still rounding negatives and thickening mouthfeel drastically, which it achieves effortlessly. But besides all of that my favorite aspect of this pot is that for some reason it is able to extract more sweetness from a Yan Cha than pretty much any other way of brewing them. Definitely in my top 4 Yan Cha (medium-high roasted) pots!

Hopefully the owner, Melody, restocks the smaller zi ni Shui Pings (65mL) she used to carry. Very recommended little ones that I would like to purchase again.

Melody said she is in the process of looking for some smaller quality pots, fingers crossed!!

Cool! Fingers crossed here too. If that pot were 100mL I would buy one without thinking twice. Pity it is that big, lol. That's huge for a "new" zhu ni pot.

Rather than start an entirely new thread, I thought adding my question to this one would be more efficient.

Is there any difference between the shapes "fang gu" and "pan hu"? I've seen both names for very similar shaped pots. Furthermore, it seems these names apply to a wide range of similarly shaped pots ... see examples below (please note that I just searched and pulled these links off the net ... I can't vouch for the validity of the sellers claims and wouldn't be surprised if any of the shape names are inaccurate).

Also, when I read "fang gu" and "fang gu hu", I assume these refer to the same shape, but can anyone provide a literal translation? What does the "hu" mean in the second name? I've also seen "pan hu" referred to as "san jiao" ... is this a correct substitute name? What is the translation of "san jiao"?

With the exception of the very first pot from Jing, all the others described as fang gu look like the same shape (more or less) to me. Maybe just a typo on Jing's part?
