I have another event that day. (urban farming seminar in the south bronx)
I will likely go on sunday. But, if this happens again, I'm in.

The owner is a nice guy; his name is Peter. I spent there an hour chatting with him about Yixing pots. I was looking for 80ml-150ml teapot, there were at least twelve pots in this category, and Peter let me test teapots that I liked using water. I bought one 140ml, multiple hole zisha( or zini ?) pot, and got 12gr free sample of vintage sheng pu'er. I've paid $60 for the pot.
A small update and few questions.
The pot that I've got was giving me a weird aftertaste, so I visited the Flushing Mall store to exchange it. It looks that Peter, the store owner, got some more pots that I didn't see during my first visit. Anyway, I got similar pot - same size, same characteristics - but the clay is different.

What kind of zini is it?

Also there is a tiny crack on inside of the lid, which I had overlooked in the store.
Should I be concerned about it?
Thanks for your help.

I also reserved one pot, but not sure about the clay. It is probably zini, but the color is kind of muted greyish purple. It feels heavy for the size (100ml) and has metallic high pitched sound. I really like the shape and size of it. Any thoughts? Thanks

I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Should be a good weekend for it. The New Year parade is on Saturday.
This sounds like a TeaChat meetup!
May I join? :D

Yeah, we all met up at Fang's. You should have come!

I like the above pot- both clay, size, and shape. Now I'm wishing I had checked the shop out. How much is he asking for the pot?

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it last Saturday, may be the other time.

The gray or the purple? He was asking $80 for grey one.
What kind of clay is it?

The lid of the purple has a small crack. Is it a bad thing?

More fun than you could fit in a single faircup. Sorry!
Will try to post a NYC TeaChat Meetup by end of March.

I went on sunday. I hope I can make the meet-up some day. I had a good time at fangs, they were very helpful. I may get a pot from them someday.

I'm going back this weekend to get more of this '86 tea that I'm addicted to.

I'll just call them my "dealers"

Both are decent modern zi ni. That tiny little crack is nothing at all to worry about.

I picked up my pot today and got a nice discount. The actual size is 120ml.
There were some new pots. I took a few pictures of the small (100-180ml) pots that i liked.

Doesn't look quite right to me, maybe more like Chaozhou "zhuni."
