Has anyone tried the Taiwan clay teapot from Taiwan Tea Crafts? It uses Taiwan clay that is said to be free of chemicals and other toxins we dump into the environment.

I have some and they work really well with greener oolongs - and they are indeed also really pretty

The Weilong pots are certainly very interesting ... maybe one day!

It would be used for green oolongs so it sounds like a winner. I think I'll give it try and take advantage of their 20% sale. Not to mention I broke the lid of my gaiwan the other day. But I am curious how this would compare to a good yixing pot.

Here are the results - two infusions only as I have already had one lengthy session with other tea and teapot.

Setup:
Tea: Lisha High Mountain Spirit Winter Oolong tea Lot 247 from Taiwan Tea Crafts
Note: I do not measure and calculate gr to ml ratio as I think a calculator and some 'drug-scales' destroy the lovely atmosphere of a tea session

Teapots:
Moondust Sage smaller teapot (about 140ml) from TTC
Chinese Yixing Zisha Teapot Zhu Ni Xiao Qie Duan Pot 100ml Round Eggplant Pot from Wisdom China Teacups:
Andrzej Bero Erabo style tea cups

Result:
Two absolutely lovely cups of tea. The yixing seemed to bring out the floral flavour a little bit more whereas the TTC teapot rounded the flavours off better, giving the taste a bit more 'oomph' and balancing everything out really nicely.

Well I ordered the teapot among other things. Since they are closed this week it wont ship till next week. Can't wait to try it out.

Do you find the 140ml to be too large for one person? I'm thinking 100-120ml would be ideal for me.

Indeed, the size is a bit on the generous side
This means that only I use them for tea sessions when I know I will have enough time. If I have less time - or for teas that just go on forever - I do use smaller teapots.

The 140ml size is very good for when you have a fellow tea enthusiast to enjoy your tea with.

I decided to look for something smaller in the 85-100ml range. I've been using a 150ml gaiwan for several years and have started brewing gongfu style. In the end it's too much to drink after 6+ infusions.

Shame - I was looking forward to reading about what you thought about the teapot. I hope that you found something nice in the end. Just as a suggestion: for high mountain oolongs I am a fan of unglazed teapots from Andrzej Bero. They also come in the sizes that you are looking for... and they are also easier on the wallet

Stephane from Teamasters recommended me not to purchase any pots made of Taiwanese clay, after asking him if he could sell me one as a kind of a favour, because they of the amount of chemicals they add to the clay. He doesn't sell any for that reason (but he could if he wanted to).

Also that pot is way overpriced and their Yixings are no good either (good sales pitch to sell them though):
