Hi,
I have to buy a new Kyusu because my old one broke recently.
Somehow I can't find a new Kyusu that I like. So I'm hoping
that I will get some assistance here.
It should be 160ml - 180ml (max).
A stelnes steel mesh. Obi or cup.
What I don't like at all is Banko
or Hagi. Or any other "klingonish"
style.
Something pure ad minimalistic.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you are willing to try Sasame screened kyusu, there is a litany of kyusu available at http://www.artisticnippon.com in your size range. But be careful, somehow one kyusu becomes 2 becomes 4, etc.

What do you mean by "Klingonish"? None of my kyusu have interesting foreheads, or any foreheads for that matter!

And all my kyusu get along with the cups from other potters. Theres no fighting in the tea ware cabinet.

... although, I do follow Klingon ritual, when a kyusu "dies" I yell out a long ARRRRRRRGGGG ... to of course tell those kyusu who passed before him/her, that he/she is coming to join them.
This can be bit awkward in some settings.

And when it's pon-far time, I like to put all of my pots in the cabinet and wait a day or two. If I'm lucky, I find a new yunomi when I open it up!

this is my Kyusu, It was made by Jason Hess, a prominent wood fire artist and ceramics professor. This piece is made as art first/ teapot second, though it makes great tea. Jasons teapot style during this time are characterized by exaggerated features, strong throwing marks, and broad surfaces to catch fly ash. I was lucky enough to get a great deal on this pot when Jason was being exhibited in the museum I was working for and this is one of the pieces featured during a show in 2008.

It does have a very interesting steampunky almost cast iron look about it. Nice contrast to the green tea you have next to it.
