For those of you living in a place where indoor fire is forbidden or unsafe, and if you are not shocked by loosing a bit of the wabi sabi of a vintage hibachi, and finally if you have some interest in creating an aesthetical hotplate, here is a complete topic on these handyworks : http://forumdesamateursdethe.fr/viewtop ... =76&t=1000

nice!

an alternative for anyone whom isnt into the DIY aspect is to look for
日本茶道电陶炉 on taobao or the regular 光波电陶炉 halogen round type which can be quite nice to transplant into a hibachi as well

Oooh, the idea is great, and these examples are really nice!

I use a plain old hotplate for my silver kettle, and I would certainly enjoy having something a bit more aesthetically pleasing!
