TriniTEA vs. Zarafina

Postby bibliophile42 » Jan 2nd, '07, 13:29

So, obviously there's the price difference... but other than that, I can't figure out which to buy. I know the Zarafina comes with the pot and the cups... but I don't need any more of those! So... anyone care to compare/contrast these two teamakers?

I know Zarafina has tea settings but no actual temperature settings... does the TriniTEA allow you to pick temperatures and minutes brewed? As opposed to "mild medium and strong?"

Help! :)

I can offer this: The TriniTEA has double the capacity of the Zarafina. That's pretty much all I needed to know.

I say quality over quantity. Somebody has to have an opinion based on that?

I agree that quality is the most important factor.

It's not a precision instrument.
Heats tea to the selected temperature?
Brews for the selected amount of time?

From reviews here at Teachat (I only have the v1 TriniTEA), it seems that they both do the above well enough. The Zarafina is "prettier" but costs quite bit more and has half the brewing capacity. I rarely need 32oz capacity, but when I have tea-drinking friends over, I am always glad that I do.
