I have the little ingenuiTEA Adagio sells and I like it. Very easy to deal with. The only problem I've run in to is that I need another container to cool the water down in for my re-steeps. And that's not a big deal. Though I do get some funny looks having it on my desk when making some tea.

Forget the sticks - not a good idea - no room for the leaves to expand.

The ingenuiTEA might be the best for starting out. But even easier and less fuss is the Paris Tea Strainer, I have one at work and at home:

It has a wide rim and fits most any mug.
All you need is a second cup to set it in after the brew to let it drain.
Then it's ready to resteep whenever!

Re: ingenuiTEA, I have to say that the filter gets floaty and it drives me mad. Other than that, I do love it. I've had mine for a year and a half or so and have replaced the filter.

This is so not practical for the long term, but it does look lovely ...

Gonna 2nd Victoria's recommendation. I also have one at home and work and use it with just about every tea, pot or cup. I'd be lost without one now...

Just a note on this issue - I have found that if you remove the filter and rough it up a bit around the edge it fits tighter.

Tenuki - that Bodum looks like it displaces a lot of water.

Nope, the stainless steel is extremely thin. Just my 2 cents worth - I have a wire mesh one too like you (and a nylon mesh one as well) and I prefer the bodum because it is easier to clean, more durable, fits some of my deeper cups better, allows for brewing half a mug because it goes down into the mug further and the lid is a handy place to set the infuser after you pull it out. Disadvantages over the mesh infuser is that it is slightly narrower, but it is taller so I think the volume is pretty equivalent.

Well ok, since I have been looking at them for awhile, I'll probably pick one up as an alternate.

Although --- I've never brewed 1/2 a mug in my life.

I bought this little pot from RoT to use with my strainer.

It makes a nice little set and probably holds more than the Bodum lid.

Tenuki: Thanks for the pic assist. I love dragonflies, hence my affection for this almost totally useless and wasteful device. I may still have to add it to my collection .... And when I'm feeling more technologically motivated (have a tea for that?), I may have to ask just how you did that.

Victoria: Thanks for the tip on the filter. It has driven me crazy for well over a year as each time I fill it I pray, "Please don't float, please don't float, please don't .... oh, shoot."

Tenuki: Totally envy inducing. I saw so much of that kind of thing when I lived in Korea, but, alas, that was before my conversion to tea. <sigh>
