It's hefty--almost as large as a chawan. For size comparison, I've photographed it next to a chawan by his father, Kaneta Sanzaemon VII.

The size is a bit awkward for casual drinking, but I don't care...I'm totally in love...
Awesome, Kaneta Masanao has always been on my wish list. I love his works.

I had to jump on this one....I figured it was the closest I would ever come to getting one of his chawan without having to sell a kidney first.

Beautiful. Looks heavy, though. Great artist.
Check out Lucien Koonce's latest guinomi on his blog. He's also doing some wonderful stuff.

I don't have photos of my own yet, but I recently acquired one of those pink yunomi that people have mentioned (http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/h ... unomi.html) along with an Aohagi Chirashi yunomi that recently appeared (http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/h ... unomi.html), so that they could be Best Friends Forever.

I must say, my mind is completely blown by that little pink cup! It's far more gorgeous than I was expecting; all this time, I've been eyeing them, being all, "I don't even really like pink...", so I'm extremely glad I decided to take the plunge. Wow!

The blue yunomi, too, is gorgeous, but I'm mostly posting about the unexpected beauty of the little pink guy. :D

(Edited to clarify that I am *not* affiliated with AN in any way, other than being a happy customer.)

Very nice combination of the rich blue and the translucent glazes.

Wow, love it! That's a great Seigan Blue, Tobias.

Yeah, I think the Seigan Blue pieces on which he applies slip to the clay body liberally before putting on the glaze (at least that's how I think he does it) come out the best.

Funny you should mention that, its visually stunning, but even more so texturally. I am not sure I can adequately describe how it feels, I want to say almost sand paper, but that's not right either. Perhaps it is slightly closer to a tin foil or copper sheet that has been pressed into a bed of nails. Where there are slightly rough peaks a little bit apart (no where near as close as sand paper), but otherwise smooth in between.

Its currently taking a bath, I hopefully can use it tonight or tomorrow. Although mine has an interesting thing where it whistles slightly when I rub my finger around the top of the rim.

Yeah, that is beautiful Adam ... beauty being in the eye of the Hagiphile beholder.

And get out ... really ... does it really "whistle?"

Well I would say whistle in the sense that corduroy whistles when rubbed against itself.

I neglected to say how nice your pieces are Abra and Tobias! Although I did not comment, I did admire!

Speaking of admiring ... I have admired this set up by Kashun for several years. Far from being small production run pieces, they still are really nice. The cups are so tactile and the curves are pleasing to the eye.
