The weirdest thing is the size of the cracks on the inside. They are in giant patches in most places, and some of them even seem to dead end.

This is really odd Adam, but in a cool way. I wonder if it is more common in the thicker white glazes of Seigan? Looking at a few here, I do not see this however.

Well, accidents do happen! How is it crackling?

But then sometimes accidents have nothing to do with a piece. Hagi trivia. This Biwa guinomi was borne of Hagi SO 4, the Biwa Wan. We collaborated on this piece, I wanted the loquat/biwa glaze with this shape, very rough sand/clay, and Deishi complied.

That was for a larger wan, but then all of a sudden, offspring began popping up all over the place and in different sizes too.

I also found out later that the lesser wans made for the SO, that did not pass the muster for the SO (only 25 out of 100 started made the grade), but were not seconds either, were sold off as well and found their way to TCers.

So, you have a little offspring of Hagi #4

Pardon the virtual double post, but ...

"A Journey into the TeaCave ..." Part 1.

The boxes work nicely for displaying when you have a LOT to display.

This is where we sit for tea ... the pieces shown here, 80% are from the Hagi SO program, but not all the Hagi SOs are here.

Thanks for the trivia, it is always nice and interesting to know more about the teaware, too bad I was late to TeaChat and missed many beautiful Hagi SOs! The white one is starting to crackle a little in the bottom, but it is darkening quite slowly (I've only used it for sencha, no darker teas so far). No trace of crackle on the inside walls yet.
By the way, I'm curious about what kind of changes I can expect to see with the biwa glaze?

Not a complete answer and some people have more advanced Biwa's but here are some pictures I took of how mine is changing.

Thanks Adam.

Here are a bunch of photos/post on 3 different stages of Biwa progression. This is from a while ago, and more changes have since occurred, but it is "more of the same."

Yeah, Biwa-s can really progress!!!

For those of you with a facebook, I recently discovered that Magokorodo has a page, and has been posting some wonderful pictures of the artisans, and their kilns.
