Interesting,
My outside has more cracks than the inside.
I have the opposite wear.

Cool Adam ...
After being out of sencha, it is now back in da house, so time to break out the ROCK! It has not tasted tea yet.

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I got my first Hagi! I'm pretty stoked, and it's extremely nice to hold. It's an adopted, unused SO #9 Tebineri Yunomi from a teachat user who had no room for it. It's quite large but that's no problem, I drink lots of tea

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Well as Chip says he's wanted to turn this into a general Yaki topic not just Hagi. I'll post my new Karastu Yunomi here.

Great yunomi, Adam. I will be curious to see if this changes as a Hagi does!
Hope you enjoy your SO 9 piece, Elovitz! I don't know how I missed your post!

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
No problem, it's starting to crack and I'm quite excited to compare it to the old photos down the line.
And nice yunomi! Love the colors on the inside

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Please pardon the plug!
Hagi SSO 15 "Sendai" pre-SO discussion is taking place here: http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=15592
This is a very special Hagi SO for several reasons.
Yes the pieces are spectacular!
However this is also a partnership between TeaChat and Magokorodo to raise some funds for the Relief Efforts in Japan following the tragic disasters in March.
Still, the prices will be reasonable!

Holy Staining Karatsu.
Normally I would wait for the stains to get a little darker before trying to photo graph them. But what is special about this, is this is the cup after 1 session of Sencha.

Looks like great hagi piece!
Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I know this is the Hagi topic, but this is actually a Karatsu piece. Chip has for quite awhile told me he thinks a Hagi topic is too specific, and when he has to recreate another version of this topic he is considering making it a general Yaki topic. So I decided to go about it a bit early.naivemonarch wrote:It had to be really strong sencha steepAdamMY wrote:Holy Staining Karatsu.

Although if you look much earlier in the topic we did spend a decent amount of time talking about Shino pieces.
