Normally I would wait for the stains to get a little darker before trying to photo graph them. But what is special about this, is this is the cup after 1 session of Sencha.

It had to be really strong sencha steep
Looks like great hagi piece! :)
I know this is the Hagi topic, but this is actually a Karatsu piece. Chip has for quite awhile told me he thinks a Hagi topic is too specific, and when he has to recreate another version of this topic he is considering making it a general Yaki topic. So I decided to go about it a bit early.

Although if you look much earlier in the topic we did spend a decent amount of time talking about Shino pieces.
Karatsu or Hagi, it is a great piece... But thanks for info anyway. Yes I read it before some time and there are many helpful information about, I am also possessed by shino glaze :)

Not sure I want to give away my secret, although the vendor is well known on this form (Artistic Nippon). They do not have an entire Karatsu section but if you look under Artist Focus, on of the artists there is a Karatsu artist.

People keep their Hagi sources secret? Seems like a terrible thing to do to an artist.

Not that I know we tend to share our sources, unless we are anticipating ordering a particular piece, then we may hold off sharing that one till after we placed our order/ won the auction.

I think that once "HagiCollectors" or any collector for that matter, obtain their piece, they are then much more apt to share information. They just do not want to create competition for their selection before they buy it. This is true for ebay or purchases from a vendor. To do so is like shooting oneself in the foot.

I know many times members have shared info ahead of time, and this is risky as someone can swoop in and buy the piece (or drive the price up) before the disclosing member has a chance ...

That makes sense...then it would most behoove that individual to keep their mouth shut until they've actually acquired the piece.

Thanks. I only buy from Mago in general so I don't have this problem. But I understand perfectly.

A very special fund raiser Hagi SSO 15 "Sendai" has commenced here:
http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=15663

There are 2 phases, the first phase started at 6 pm today, it is an auction on FIVE special "Sendai" pieces.

Phase 2 will begin at 6 pm Eastern USA time on Monday May 23rd.

Please check out the topic and help if you can. The SSO Sendai pieces are spectacular, a nice bonus!

Thanks!
Chip

I like their work as well, I hope to get some soon. I wound up getting two Mukuhara Kashun pieces first... soon, very soon...

Really beautiful debunix. I think I was checking this one out.

This is yet another Hagi SO offspring. Though the glaze/technic was initially created several years ago, the Hagi SO has ignited Seigan to revisit/tweak it after a long absence.

I am seeing it all over the place.
