I thought this was a sweet pic of my favorite Hagi small cup that I took last weekend.
Even though I have since lacquered the chataku, dotk made this cup of baozhong
for me on her last day here visiting. I like how you can see the swirl and that I caught
the bubbles.

Nah, that was just the fast pour of the tea. I am no longer soaking this cup prior to use.

*Nice Chip!
and Victoria, i'm sweet on your utensils esp. now with the coated wood. lol *

*Just saying it's better to have a coated piece with a settled tummy-- than having a straight up piece of raw, open-grained wood staring up at you just asking for trouble, right? :D

I MUST buy hagi chawan!

Love the froggy!
And Chip your bowl looks very calming...this bowl would be just the thing for those days when the world has jangled the nerves a bit...just smooth with some delightful lines to quietly contemplate.

Again, thanks to all who post pictures! It is so much fun to share a cup of tea with you all and check out your wares!

Have a great week all,
Dreamer

I will be sharing something new and quite different in Hagi hopefully in the next few days, but speaking of different, though not completely new ...

This is a rather large teacup by Yamane Seigan. The size makes it multi purpose, could be used as a small matcha bowl as well. It is quite a bold piece and extremely striking. It is very impressive.

The notched foot, very masculine, and finishes the bold impression of this cup.
