Many thanks John however as it is a museum show, sales aren't part of the picture however I did "sell" one piece to a local collector. Fun as well catching up after 25 years with Patti Warashina at the opening. Lot's of stories and

Be well,
R

Hello Robert,
Thank you for your comment.
The next time you are back in Kyoto with time I would like to come by and see your work. I can't afford to buy it but if you have the time please let me know.
Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the post. I've "quietly" tracked you on Etsy, and find your work rich in subtlety..... hoping to meet someday.
Interesting comments a well on 東空 regarding 人間国宝 or national living treasures.

Best wishes,
R

Hi Rob:

Congratulations on your appointment! It starts in the spring?

I'm going to try to get to the BAM exhibit in the next couple of weeks.

I have your gourd-shaped mizusashi still and have used it several times recently now that it's autumn. Just now I tried to send you some pictures but the email I have is not working, apparently. Please get in touch and we'll talk about the mizusashi.

Genko

Hey Rob!

Any pics of new work? I'm sure we'd all like to see what you've been up to?

Oh yeah, how was BAM?

A few raku pieces from a class I taught last summer in which I interspersed black UG as well as ^10 glaze with Amrak glaze which, for the most part, I tend to find a bit too flashy....

Thanks for looking,
R

Last time through Tokyo in June, Mr. Kitamoto of Sanwado Gallery asked if I make shochu cups. Here's the result..... perfect as yunomi too!

Hello Robert,
I love the splat look. Is that glaze on an yakishime body? I am interested in doing some work with a glaze on my Nanban work.

Hi Dave and thank you.

Yes, it's glaze on a porcelain body. Thought you might be interested in this link, to the Kikuchi Biennial in Tokyo with the application deadline being the 20th so you'll have to hurry....... they're offering a nice big piece of cheese as 1st place, 3,000,000 yen, although I'd be happy just to get in the door!
